Hello again, At the moment everything works fine, but I'd like Samba to use a dedicated LDAP access DN instead of the global directory admin one. Could you give me any recommendations as to how access rules should be set for this DN so that it both can work without problems and have no unnecessary privileges? Regards, -- MS

Well i have installed samba on my redhat 9.0 server .. & just to try it made a smb.conf with the following entries ... The problem - Squid worked at my test site - it did not popup a login window, but instead used Ssamba's ntlm helper program to get credentials from IE. But at my customer site it did (improperly) popup a login window.
