I've got two samba servers srv1 and srv2
smb.conf for srv1:
netbios aliases srv1-alias
smb.conf for srv2:
netbios aliases srv2-alias
DNS is configured all right and resolves the names. Each name has got
its own IP address.
Both servers are AD members, run as expected and can be connected to via
their netbios and netbios alias names....

I'm a bit new on Windows Domains. How I can check if the DC is
authoritative?.
I know that both servers answers to dns requests and both are synchronized
(if I edit a DNS entrie on srv1, srv2 receives the change), and both sends
the outside requests to google dns (dns forwarder = 8.8.8.8).
If I ask the dns entry for the domain name I got both servers addresses
(dig domain.com).
Clients have both servers as DNS servers. SRV2 is the main dns server and
SRV1 is the secondary server. When...

Made the above changes and I am still having issues with home

When I create a user (user1) using aduc, and once created, right click
the user, select properties, the profile tab, and set Home folder to

When I login as that user and attempt to access the above directory, I

libvirtd + vir-manager + kerberos
Hi!
Having two hosts installed with libvirtd, kvm, qemu on (Ubuntu
10.10). Now I have one big problem and one less:
I have set up kerberos for both hosts. Created the principal
"libvirt/srv1.example.org at EXAMPLE.ORG" and
"libvirt/srv2.example.org at EXAMPLE.ORG", Exported the krb5.keytab,
Installed it and tested the servers:
srv1.example.org: I can connect using kerberos after acquiring a
ticket with kinit.
srv2.example.org: I am asked for user and password. Setup seems to
be identical. Is there a way to debug, what is go...

then check the second. It basically crashes. Here is the line I am
currently using in smb.conf:

This works, as does:
ldap server = srv2.domain.com
But this crashes:
ldap server = srv1.domain.com srv2.domain.com
I have also tried the new method of:
passdb backend = ldapsam_compat:ldap://pdc.domain.com
This works as does the backup domain controller. If I put both entries
in, nothing works... testparm shows no errors and...

Winbind troubles
I've rolled 2 virtual servers running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and have
installed the SerNet packages. SRV1 has the AD setup and SRV2 is a
member server. I've followed the wiki for both servers to the letter,
and winbind still refuses to grab info on the member server.
I rolled the provision with --use-rfc2307, added a bunch of users with
samba-tool. I then manually created a group and made sure it had valid
gid. I then did...

(tunneling). I have this in my resolv.conf:

Possible to have two SAMBA srvs act as one?
...needs to access files hosted there on some samba shares.
Now loc A gets its own server, but still files hosted in B need to be
read/write accessed from A and vice versa.
It would be really nice to have all files and shares on both servers.
And when a file is locked on srv1 it's also locked on srv2.
Is something like that possible?
Thnx in advance,
Michael
