Running dtrace sript for defined period of time?
Hello, I''m building some simple monitoring tools to watch zfs storage servers. Is this possible to run dtrace script for example 10 seconds? (Of course it is, I just trying to figure out how). Right know it has to be stopped by "CTRL-C" I''m particulary interested in scripts like iscsiio.d, iscsiwho.d from

Live VM migration
I have two hosts as Xen Server named host A and host B in the same network. A VM is created on Host A. Host A and B have a shared storage using NFS. While doing migration from host A to host B, how can I see the memory pages being migrated. If I run a small continuous program on the VM residing on host A, will the migration complete first or the sript running will complete first? How can I see

Hi sambalist, There are some questions I want to ask you. I hope that you could give some advice to me. I want to export all the groups membership to a file such as a csv for someone to audit. I know there are some command I can list group members like: list all the group: samba-tool group list and list members in some group: samba-tool group listmembers groupname so how can I merge all the

songs on website
Hi all, I'd like to launch a radio station that would show the current, previous and upcoming tracks on a dynamic website. Is there any software around that would do just this task, or do I have to create my own scripts? The source (ices) is on the same computer where the icecast server is. Thanks in advance! Yours, Jacint

batch mode problem
Hi, ok, I know I should be using a later version than 1.7.1 (64 bit) but it's not in my power. So here is the problem: In my R script I declare a data.frame that consists of 40 vectors, each having 125 numeric elements. This is no problem as long as I run the sript in interactive mode, but running it in batch mode I get strange error messages. Apparently, it has to do with the size of

mathematica -> r (gamma function + integration)
Dear R-list, I try to transform a mathematica script to R. #######relevant part of the Mathematica script (* p_sv *) dd = NN (DsD - DD^2); lownum = NN (L-DD)^2; upnum = NN (H-DD)^2; low = lownum/(2s^2); up = upnum/(2s^2); psv = NIntegrate[1/(s^NN) Exp[-dd/(2s^2)] (Gamma[1/2,0,up] + Gamma[1/2,0,low]),{s,sL,sH}, MinRecursion->3]; PSV = psv/Sqrt[2NN]; Print["------------- Results

Webbrick and/or Mongrels Dies Overnight
I have a SuSE 10.0 server that was first running Webbrick, and now Mongrel. In both cases, I can have them running and used all day. However, either one of them will go unresponsive in the middle of the night for seemingly no reason. Being that I only use Mongrel now, I check the mongrel.log, and nothing unusual there. I check /var/log/ messages, and nothing there. Still, a request to

boot-time dtrace
Hi, I am using anon dtrace followed with normal dtrace to collect the data of all fork,exec,exit . I found that dtrace could not be able to collect all the data. Lot of pids are missing. This happence when we boot the system and expect dtrace to collect all the fork , exec & exit it collects data but not all the pids are collected. Any inputs in this regard will be of great help. thanks

Rsync diff mode (again)?
...f Analysis/TP_FP/cd_hit_fp_tn.sql me@beta:/Dest/Dir so I could quickly decide to put or get this file (or do a merge). I have been using cvs, but it is a hassle to set up and maintain (especially when I shift directories around all the time in a hap-hazard way, and I mix raw data files and small sripts etc., etc.). Basically I would like to use rsync for this because of its convenience, and the diff problem seems to fit the way rsync works (although I am totaly ignorant of the details). Those people who offer the suggestion of 'use a wrapper script' in response to similar feature reques...
