KDE and mounting CD's / DVD's without noexec
...ke my CD / DVD mount with exec gnome-mount --write-settings --device /dev/sdc0 -o exec What is the equivalent in KDE ? My initial research suggests that I actually have to write a custom udev rule to achieve this. This has led me as far as running udevinfo -q path -n /dev/scd0 udevtest /block/sr0 (the output is below) My question is which of these commands is actually doing the mount as all I want to change is the exec flag rather that how the device is labeled. main: looking at device '/block/sr0' from subsystem 'block' run_program: '/bin/bash -c '/sbin/lsmo...

Question Fe and BE device
Hello, I try to install some applications on XEN. These applications have a automated install and are based on SLES10SP3. During the installation the device searches for /dev/sr0. Which fails in the xen enviroment. I now make a work around with booting a rescue system and mounting /dev/hdc and so on. But it should not be that difficult to install something into XEN. Can Somebody shed some light on how to make /dev/sr0 available for domu mfg, Jeroen __________________...

Bug#595531: xen-utils-common: boot="d" does not boot from CD (documentation issue?)
...xen-utils-common Version: 4.0.0-1 Severity: normal This is an offshoot of Bug#588888, but is really a separate issue. It appears that with hvmloader, the disk device names presented to the vm must by from a specific set that hvmloader knows how to emulate. Names like hd[a-c] and sd[a-c] work, but sr0 does not. While this makes sense, when you think about what hvmloader is doing, it is not obvious. So, the cdrom must be named hdc (sdc might also work; I haven't tried it). Second, for some phy: names (on the host side) you must use the full /dev/xxxx, while for others, you can omit the /dev...

btrfs device scan
I have a couple computers running 2.6.38 (Ubuntu Natty 2.6.38-8-generic), and on both of them "btrfs device scan" comes back with nothing other than "failed to read /dev/sr0" One computer has a btrfs RAID-1 volume, and the other has two separate btrfs filesystems. The results are the same whether the filesystems are mounted or not. Why is "btrfs device scan" not scanning the devices? vic -- To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscrib...

mountmgr doesn't recognize d:: link to /dev/sr0
I am a Fedora 13 user, so HAL automounts CDROMs and DVDROMs on /media/<LABEL> (this node is also dynamically created and removed from the /media/ directory as needed). II would like to assign a device drive letter to /dev/sr0 to reference any CD or DVD when inserted (e.g. d:: --> /dev/sr0), instead of having to manually create a symlink to the dynamically created /media/<LABEL> directory each time I load a DVD or CD. As I understand it, this should work. My problem is that mountmgr doesn't seem to "se...

problems with burning i386 centos 6 dvd
Hey guys, Thanks a lot for the CentOS 6 distro. I am having trouble burning the i386 dvds. I tried on a RHEL 6 deskop and also a CentOS 5 laptop. The command I am running on both systems is this: growisofs -dvd-compat -speed=4 -Z /dev/sr0=/home/gsgatlin/CentOS-6.0-i386-bin-DVD/CentOS-6.0-i386-bin-DVD.iso The error I am seeing is: :-( /dev/sr0: 2295104 blocks are free, 2297586 to be written! (Yes it puts a sad face on the command line) The DVD says DVD +R on it if that matters. I was able to burn the 64 bit dvd's ok with sim...

How to burn a CD using libvirt?
...chine's CD-ROM drive does support writing/burning.) I'm using the "virt-manager" GUI to start the virtual machine. Problem with automatic mounting of disc drive (Ubuntu 11.10)
...WINE 1.2 under Ubuntu 11.10. It automatically mounts CDs and DVDs at /media/(disc name). So whenever I insert a new disc, I have to change the configuration of WINE which is a bit annoying. I could not find any help via Google. On ubuntuforum.org I was told to point WINE to the device itself (/dev/sr0) instead of the mount point, but that didn't work. Or at least, Baldur's Gate does not believe me that I have it's disc inserted. When I give WINE the mount point, then it runs fine. Since I got no more replies on ubuntuforum for some days now, I thought maybe someone here can help me.
