why does dovecot child die on these messages?
Hi Timo and other dovecot fans, why, when I'm trying to read certain "Drafts" emails that I just created, or edited, do the dovecot children die (or so I think). In mutt, the behaviour is that I "c =Drafts" then select the email and I get "connection closed to squeaky.rubberduck.com". In Mail.app - she just loops, trying to read those headers again and again and again.. (and this truss is from this instance) I find that emails before a certain date are OK - but if i edit them and then try and refetch them - the child dies yet again. So I removed all .im...

Noise on FXS ports (Sangoma)
Hi: I have a Sangoma A200 card installed in a server with two FXO modules and one FXS module. Analog sets connected to the FXS module have a "squeaky static" -- it's like static mixed with the sound of someone vigorously cleaning a window a few doors down. In other words, it's not a classic static noise, but it is noise, and it's distracting. Remote callers can hear this noise. I have, by turns: - Tested the line with the sam...

CentOS 8 Gstreamer and Mplayer
Hey Y'all, What replaced Gstreamer and Mplayer in CentOS 8. RPM finder finds both for CentOS 6 and 7 but not 8. There must be a replacement for them but I don't know what. I appear to be having codec issues but, not knowing what's supposed to handle the jobs that the two programs used to do, I don't know where to look for a commercial set of codecs compatible with the

If all the above checks out these Red Alarms and HDLC errors are most likely due to problems in provisioning the circuit. A new era in Radio! Don't miss The Experimental Beat! (fwd)
...ally try it out. It completely lived up to my expectations. So I thought some on these lists might be interested to hear it at work. Unfortunately there's a bit of echo from speakers at one of the remote parties, and the other remote had a noisy mic preamp, so it doesn't always sound squeaky clean. But it's a great showcase of the codec and I'd love to be able to use it more in these sorts of settings. Geoff. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Helo Edwin Khoo is unable to do his fabulous Oriental Beat show this week due to it being Singapore's national day. So...

Current Debian unstable has a broken libm?
...1.2) also broke. Building and linking against libc5 still produces a working executable. Bulding with -O0 and -O1 is OK. Building against libc/m 2.0.7 on other machines is OK. I can't downgrade just the libc on Bloopfish as Debian won't let a libc go backward... (The code in question is squeaky clean with efence. This doesn't rule out a stack-based clobber of course...) *sigh*. Maybe all of Joerg's complaints about broken floating point in libc 2.1 (which I had been dismissing) are true after all.... Bringing Notes 4.5 server live...
...ntoo under OpenVZ, and have winecgf appearing nicely on my desktop. I have an old notes 4.5 server which is still doing what I want, hosted until recently under Win2K. I thought I'd virtualise it and turn off the hardware for good. I have long since lost/binned the install disks, so I built a squeaky new Win2K installtion and applied SP4. I copied the notes directory across, and then the notes.ini file into \winnt. It wouldn't start, so I added Netbeui to the supported protocols and up she came straight away. I bzipped up the win2k directory, notes directory and ini file and installed thi...

[LLVMdev] compiler-rt CMake build
...build to optionally build against the LLVM install directory (instead of in the context of the LLVM source directory). Next, we use CMake to export the Sanitizer lit tests. Lastly, Clang optionally imports the test suite and adds the sanitizer runtime to its install directory. What do you think? Squeaky clean? UIDL conversion courier -> dovecot
...trying to figure out a way to convert the POP3 UIDLs (in cases where the courierpop3dsizelist is newer than dovecot-uidlist, at least) to something that Dovecot will read, or to configure Dovecot's pop3 to use a UIDL format that will work, as mentioned in the migration wiki. We have some "squeaky wheel" users who don't have their POP clients set to delete messages, and are likely to complain about re-downloading their several GB of mail. Thus far, the migration scripts haven't seemed to work properly, maybe because of the versions I'm using. I'm not sure whether the Co...

whatever happend to unobtrusive javascript in Rails ?
...lso don''t think the above concepts are superficial, contrived or inappropriately dogmatic. There are tremendous real-life benefits and in some cases they even become necessities. There''s also a more metaphysical aspect - if you will - the immense satisfaction of looking at squeaky clean xhtml source, yet "invisibly" enhanced by advanced DOM-scripting functionality and AJAX glitz. I understand that i''m not required to use JS helpers in Rails but i feel i would miss out on a great deal of very productive features if i decided to implement all this ma...

[LLVMdev] compiler-rt CMake build
Regarding Brad King's CMake patches for LLVM: http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.compilers.llvm.cvs/173517 If compiler-rt could follow suit, the packaging for the toolchain becomes a nice, clean package-manager-friendly DAG. Currently, the compiler-rt CMake build depends on the just-built-clang to run its test suite. It's more intuitive to me that either: 1) compiler-rt's

WMA9 versus OGG
Hello all I have been encoding to OGG as a default for well over a year, but I recently thought I ought to test how it sounds compared to other codecs. I got the Windows Media 9 encoder and I was quite surprised at how bad a job OGG did at quality 0 with a simple piano clip, and how well WMA9 was - I've always considered WMA as being a bit naff, but WMA9 has forced me to re-access this view
