Video Door Phone
I have a customer that has a campground. Wants to see who's at the gate, remotely, via camera, and talk to that person through a "traditional squawk box" and be able to open the gate remotely from that phone. He doesn't want to have a separate camera feed, etc, he wants to do it all on one phone. Does such a way to do this exist by using Asterisk and some kind of relay system / Video phone ? Very Nice!
...rks great with MEMDISK - the partition image created by this is recognized but hangs when MEMDISK says it should be booting. I can't find any info or discussions regarding the requirements for creating a HD image, as far as what utils make usable images, what filesystems are supported (MEMDISK squawked at a FAT12 partition), etc. I really just want about a 5-10MB FAT16 or FAT32 bootable partition image, but I'm at a loss for how to create a workable one. Any suggestions would really help - I'm entering a multiple-OS testing phase for my software project (http://www.cyboria.com) and I ha...

iLBC, Speex and X-Lite
...trying out the newest X-Lite (Build 1012) with iLBC and speex codecs. If I enable only iLBC _or_ SPX on X-Lite and call the echo-test on my asterisk server, the call connects, but I get no sound. If I enable only iLBC _and_ SPX, X-Lite indicated that it has connected with iLBC, and I hear a weird squawking. My sip.conf contains: allow=iLBC allow=SPEEX allow=gsm I've heard that asterisk and kphone will work together using iLBC. Does anyone else have any interoperability experience? Any ideas on what I should do to debug this?

Looking for suggestions: How to strip attachments from mails
Hi, I know this is not 100% on-topic, but I'll try anyway... I'm looking for a way to strip attachments from incoming mails on the server. The attachments should be stored on a file server (where users have access via SAMBA) and only a link to the file (UNC path) should remain in the mail body. This is to prevent the mail storage from filling up with a large amount of big mails where

Since LLVM doesn't maintain any kind of "migration guide" for its changes, you basically have to be an LLVM developer to fight the bitrot, or else have some kind of automated thing which will allow you to squawk on the mailing list for migration help while the change is still fresh. -- Sean Silva On Sun, Nov 4, 2012 at 4:33 AM, Mikael Lyngvig <mikael at lyngvig.org> wrote: > Hi, > > I have several times over the past three months tried to retrieve the trunk > version of LLVM/Clang/Compi...

Fax detection (Sangoma)
I have an FXS port and an FXO port on my Sangoma, can I detect inbound Fax calls on my FXO port and route them automatically to the FXS port (connected to a fax machine) while allowing normal voices to ring the main extension like normal? I looked through archive but didn't see this exact question addressed. Thanks, David Ruggles CCNA MCSE (NT) CNA A+ Network Engineer Safe Data, Inc. (910)

Is this an issue?
I just set up a UPS on a Debian Stretch system for my sister-in-law.  Obviously, I want NUT to properly shut down the unit when the battery gets low.  This means upsmon must be running and healthy.  When I run 'systemctl status nut-monitor`, I see the following in the journal: nut-monitor.service: Supervising process 778 which is not our child. We'll most likely not notice when

[LLVMdev] Last Known Good Builds?
Hi, I have several times over the past three months tried to retrieve the trunk version of LLVM/Clang/Compiler-RT from Subversion and then tried to build it on Windows: Without success. Also, I occasionally get emails from people who ask me why LLVM/Windows does not build (they find my name in the mailing list archive). This has made me ponder the issue and I came up with the following scheme

https://cran.r-project.org/web/views/Optimization.html (Cran's optimization task view -- as always, you should search before posting) In general, nonlinear optimization with nonlinear constraints is hard, and the strategy used here (multiplying by a*b < 1000) may not work -- it introduces a discontinuity into the objective function, so gradient based methods may in particular be

trouble installing packages on OpenSuse 11.4
Hi, I am trying to install a bunch of packages via command line and can use some help in getting it right. My env is a freshly setup OpenSuse 11.4 on an amd desktop. I have not yet installed gcc (Will I need gcc to install packages? I have installed make, assuming R might need it.). I have tried it both under R2.12 and R2.13. I have a list of packages to install such as fImport, fGarch, zoo,

I have not as yet tried any builds just available binaries. I intend to write up instructions for novices in my home page. Any help or squawks would be greatly appreciated. I'm using win2000. Wget 1.81 was relatively painless to get going (from the command line), but winamp 2.72 with the ogg plugin would not accept ogg files. I tried Zinf. It does ogg nicely, however I miss the feature of xmms of playing a whole directory without a...

Voicetronix OpenLine4 -- Help Needed
Hi. I need help with my brand new Voicetronix OpenLine4 board that I installed into Asterisk. After building the Linux device driver and inserting the module, I modified the /usr/src/asterisk/channels/chan_vpb.c file to uncomment the US settings and comment out the Austrailian ones. I made the appropriate entries for routing in vpb.conf and extensions.conf.... All appears to be well, except
