Help starting Wine
Are you pointing wine to native windows dll's? This may be causing your
problems... you might want to try the #winehq irc channel on
openprojects.net if you continue to have trouble and can't get adequate
help on the newsgroup.

Daily Digest for this FLAC list?
Hello, all,
I love this great discussion group. However, I am getting single
posting in my inbox for the past few days.
I belong to a lot of groups, please forgive me if I am worng. However,
I believe I signed up for the daily digest.
I just went to the "FLAC Info Page" and couldn't find where I can switch
my preferences for the digest.
Can someone help me out?

Wine on Suse 7.1
I installed Suse 7.1 and Wine. When I attempted to upgrade it with
Wine-20010507-1.i386.rpm and got two error messages:
Shadow-utils needed by Wine,
Kdebase conflicts with Wine.
Any help would be appreciated.

Samba and Win98 dail up connection
I have a home network with my dial up connection on the windows 98 machine.
Since I have installed SAMBA and configured the computers to see each other,
I can no longer pull up a website on the windows 98 machine. The problem is
that I have assigned a permanent IP address for the Intranet. I have to use
DHCP for the dail up connection. Therefore the IP address that I assign to

I think this is the risk you take if you use a vital email address to post
to public forums. I would suggest using seperate addresses for these
functions....

Samba 3: is LDAP required?
Hi folks:
I've asked this question before and the answer didn't seem that clear. Let's
try again - shall we?
Yes or no - is OpenLDAP required to be on the SAMBA 3.0 server in order for
Active Directory support to work? Active Directory support == "security =
ads".
Thanks

Samba 3.0, Red Hat 9, and Kerberos issues with Windows Server 2003
OK, I've put together a quick-and-dirty fix to make a Red Hat 9/Samba 3 box
talk to a Windows 2k3 box. This works for me, and it's not too terribly ugly:
Download the SRPMS for Krb5 1.3.1 for the newest Red Hat beta, Severn.
You'll also need the SRPMS for e2fsprogs.
Build e2fsprogs and update your system.
Build Krb5 1.3.1.
Uninstall all Krb5 components (server, workstation, debug,

Problems accessing shares when authenticating to Win 2k3 AD
I'm a bit of a newbie to Samba, and am having some trouble getting it
running with my Windows Server 2003 Active Directory. I've followed the
procedures in the HOWTO-Collection.pdf, with no luck.
"kinit administrator" works fine, and stores a ticket in the cache:
