Customer's voice not compatible with service?
We are using SPA-2002s and PAP2Ts to service our VoIP customers. It seems that one of our customers (female) has a voice that is just right that it generates DTMF tones when she talks... I know I've seen this sporatically, but this seems to happen often on her line, and I'm curious if there are any settings on the device to alter this behaviour?

mixed local & roaming profiles?
Before I join all my W2K clients to my 3.0.8-2 Samba server (Debian), I plan to remove "logon path = ..." due to sporatic problems I'm seeing. We're only ~10 regular Windows2000 users, and ~30 VMware Win2K users, so roaming doesn't buy us much. However, it might be helpful if I could enable roaming either by user or by host, particularly with the VMware users. Is there a _simple_ option for this?...

1.2.12.1 crashing
...tability it gave us (weeks without a restart). We upgraded to 1.2.12.1 because it seemed to resolve an issue we were having with some 800 # original being brought to us via sip (occassionally the calls would have 1 way audio when put on phone hold). 1.2.12.1 fixed this, however it is randomly and sporatically crashing. Advise?

Wireless links + Realtime video >= Headache! (long queue delays)
...ws machine with a digitial video recorder: [IP Video Encoder] -> [Linux Box 1] - 2Mbit Wireless Link -> [Linux Box 2] -> [Digital Video Recorder running on XP] Realtime H.263 Video (UDP) flows from the encoder to the DVR at 500kbit/sec peak. (avg is about 275-300). There is also a bit of sporatic 2-way TCP communication. Both linux boxes do SNAT and DNAT using iptables. Under normal conditions this scenario works reasonably well (despite the fact that its a bit slow.) ***Problem: When bit errors on the wireless link occur, video will get jerky and get behind (sometimes as much as 20 seco...

Why is Win98 looking for user "nobody"?
Using Samba v2.0.10 on a RedHat v7.1 box, I see that the Win98 clients on our network are making sporatic requests for user "nobody" (as shown below). Anyone know what's going on here? My network has both Linux and Win98 clients, but only the Win98 clients are showing this behavior. Both the Linux and Win98 clients access the same shared drives, but only the Win98 clients use shared...

fstat() errors on /srv/mail/<username>/dovecot.index.log
Dovecot version 2.1.7 Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS Kernel 3.2.0-35-generic x86_64 I'm not sure exactly when this started occurring, but sporatically users report issues receiving email, having email saved to "Sent," etc. Looking in dovecot.log, I see the following errors: 2013-10-16 09:53:20 imap-login: Info: Login: user=<user1>, method=PLAIN, rip=127.0.0.1, lip=127.0.0.1, mpid=27434, secured, session=<PnoiBtzoBgB/AAAB&...

RE: regcontext, NoOp extension vanishes when extension reload
...ation] exist in the extension.conf file and a reload extensions is performed, all the dynamic extensions in that context will be removed, because they are not really there in the first place, statically that is. I was using the chanisavail cmd to do the local server lookups, but was getting really sporatic results, works good in the lab but not solid in an uncontrolled environment, live traffic. I'm wondering if I can use a GotoIf statement to check [sipregistration] for an active extension............ Good stuff, thanks for the insight Brad. JR

2.0.2 servers with 1.9.18p10 DMB?
Have there been any problems reported with running 2.0.2 on servers using security=server with a 1.9.18p10 DMB? We've run into a situation where I've upgraded 4 of our servers to 2.0.2 but the DMB is still running 1.9.18p10. We have had sporatic trouble with the upgraded servers rejecting correct passwords because the DMB seemingly would not properly validate them. Today, we ran into a more serious problem where Win95 samba drives were being disconnected when accessed because "password server URANUS rejected the password". I'...

FIX for smbtar zero length files... (Cont :)
(Erm, sorry about that...) I was talking about errors of the type: Got 0 bytes. The problem was sporatic, and seemed to be load/speed based. That is, the faster the Linux box, the more errors we had. A look through clitar.c led me to a solution. Currently, clitar.c is written to pad a file with zeros if a file read error occurs. This is normal. All of our errors were of the 0 byte length variety,...

Samba and FlashMX and Photoship
...out 10, using a Samba server with Flash MX. If they copy the files from the server and then work only on their machines and save only to their machines then everything works fine. If they work directly off the files on the server and save to the server while working directly off it they get varied sporatic problems. We have had complaints of FlashMX locking up, the computer rebooting, Adobe Photoshop locking up, and even the horrid blue screen of death. All of the clients are Windows 2000 Professional and have varied service packs on the machines. I read that the problem might be opt locks so i tu...

Once this happens i lose dialtone on all of the modules, and it doesn't come back until the drivers are reloaded, * restarted Battery is lost sporatically, but usually comes back with no dialtone Here is what i looked at so far: First i looked over the software setup; drivers, config files, and linux I tried both loop start and kewl start signalling. Results were more or less the same with both. I called Digium. They are very friendly, and th...

Newbie question - sip.conf incoming contexts
Hello! I've been struggling with the documentation for months on this simple subject... I still have not been able to get this concept down... I have 3 sip accounts (PSTN DID's) that come into my asterisk box and give me phone service from my itsp via SIP. I for the life of me have not been able to figure out how to get them to come in to 3 seperate contexts! This must be simple but I
