File locking problems - v2.2.6
...swap. Doesn't seem as bad under 2.2.5, but still happens to some extent depending on the parameters. From the release notes, I had hoped that 2.2.6 cures this problem. Am I missing something? My adventures with Wine and Netscape
...curiousities than problems I would say. When netscape is now fired up, I always get a dialog box warning me that E: is missing; this is odd because the directory wine is treating as E: (/usr/local/e/) is still there, still should be readable, and indeed still contains all of netscape's install spoor. ;) But as nothing currently seems to need this (tmp?) drive (I haven't tried installing independent programs since), I am not going to worry about it. openssh vulnerability WITH TCP DUMP!
Hi Guys, My Debian box has been hacked a few days ago using an OpenSSH vulnerability. Subsequently my box was used for sending spam and as a hacking platform (according to my ISP). I was running a fairly recent version of OpenSSH (3.9p1). I reinstalled my box (now with 3.8p1 as supplied by Debian Stable), and started tcpdump to see if I would get lucky. I DID!
