How to compute 95%CI for OR from logistic regression?
Hi all: My data has 3 variables: age(3levels : <30y=1 30-50y=2, >50y=3) gender(Male=0, Female=1) CD4 cell count(raw lab measurement) y(1:death 0:alive) I perform logistic regression to find out the factors that influence y. result<-glm(y ~ factor(age) + factor(gender) + CD4,family = binomial) >From the result,I can get OR(Odds Ratio) of gender via exp(Estimate of Female,

clogit question
Hi, I am playing with clogit(case~spontaneous+induced+strata(stratum),data=infert) from clogit help file. This line works. 1. But, why strata(stratum) doesn't have a coefficient like spontaneous and induced? 2. When I remove strata(stratum) from the command, this function seems to keep running forever. Why? 3. I think the equation for clogit looks like P=1/(1+

R process gets killed spontaneously
My R process has been killed for a few times, although the system administrator did not do so. It happened when R attempted to allocate a lot of memory. I'm wondering whether R would spontaneously kill itself if it can not allocate enough memory?

Asterisk spontaneous reboot
Hello, Today I restart the MySQL-DB (/sbin/service mysqld restart) and I could no longer connect to asterisk (/usr/sbin/asterisk -r) for a few seconds. There is now a core dump present in /tmp : -rw------- 1 root root 88M Aug 26 08:07 core.sip.pbx.tld-2011-08-26T08:07:35+0200 How can I get usefull information about what went wrong ? Because a spontaneous reboot of Asterisk has never

Spontaneous reboots on asterisk 1.6.2.11
Hello list, has anyone else also noticed spontaneous reboots ?! I noticed this today and also yesterday. Can't really see if there is a fixed time between the reboots. Normally al of my SIP peers are registered. When I put up the CLI today I saw that a lot of SIP accounts where UNREACHABLE and needed to register again (what they slowly did). These are realtime SIP peers that reside on

Why was my R process killed spontaneously?
I tried to use gpuCor function in the gputools package of R to calcuate the pairwise correlations of a matrix of 40,000 columns. Becuase there would be memory issues if I use the whole matrix at a time, I splitted the matrix into submatrix of 10,000 columns and then calculate the pairwise correlation of different submatrices. There are altogether 4 submatrices, so I need to calculate the pearson

SPA-841 spontaneous voicemail problem
Hello. A while back, I noticed an odd problem with our SPA-841 phones connected to Asterisk. Now we are having a different odd problem, and I'm not sure if they're related. I wonder if anyone else has experienced anything else like this, and/or if there is any reasonable explanation? Occasionally, one of our SPA-841's will spontaneously start up with "Welcome to Comedian

[PATCH v2 1/1] cat: virt-tail: Fix spontaneously failing test
According to 'guestfs_sync' API method documentation: "You should always call this if you have modified a disk image, before closing the handle." So, 'guestfish --remote sync' is required because changes made on the disk (guestfish --remote rm /tail) should be visible to 'virt-tail' which works in different process and also accessing the same disk. A you can see,

CentOS 4.3 Server spontaneously rebooting (over and over again)
Hi there, This post has also been posted in the Hardware and General forums but I thought it might be wise to post it here as well! My CentOS 4.3 (upgraded from CentOS 4.2 installed from Linux Magazine's April 2006 issue) server is rebooting spontaneously (over and over again). It started while I was copying from USB-device (iPod) to another USB-device (Freecom Portable-Hard-disk) but it

Spontaneous Hangup occuring
Hello all, I updated from CVS a few days ago and noticed that my calls just cut out without reason. The CLI says this: -- Hungup 'Zap/3-1' It occurs without error or warning. Is their a bug in CVS asterisk or libpri? This never occurred before. Cheers, Paul Seniuk -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Name: Paul Seniuk.vcf Type:

log errors and spontaneous smbd death
I'm using the samba 2.0.6 rpm's from rawhide (2.0.6-9) - I modified the .spec to remove the --with-mmap and added syslog support (and put smbspool into the system) I get these errors in my logs: smbd[3713]: getpeername failed. Error was Bad file descriptor smbd[3713]: getpeername failed. Error was Bad file descriptor smbd[3713]: getpeername failed. Error was Bad file descriptor

XP spontaneous reboot after folder rename on samba share.
I just want to get this information into the mailing list archives. In my situation I had Windows XP SP2 workstations mapped to a samba share on a debian etch stable server. My corporate overloards changed our AV product to Norton. After that, when users would rename a file or a folder on the samba share the workstaion would suddenly reboot (and not execute the rename). The samba server was a

execute a context from cron
I want to have call forwarding (from the POTS) turned on at the close of work and turned off automatically by *. I can create a context that should do just that, but I need a way to have that context spontaneously executed at a specific time. I figured that one way to do it would be to have cron run "asterisk -rx<some command>" if there were some command that would tell asterisk

CentOS 5 and ndiswrapper
This is an abbreviated version of an e-mail that I also posted to the ndiswrapper mailing list. Compressing the long story, I ran into the same problem using CentOS 5 as I had with Fedora Core 6 and ndiswrapper: my laptop (HP Pavilion zv6000 series with a Broadcom BCM43xx wireless NIC) would lock up or spontaneously reboot after a few hours if I brought up the wireless interface. I also

memory error?
I have just noticed this message in my kernel logs, reporting the possibility of an error with my memory. This would go a long way towards explaining the problems i''ve been having. This particular error is occuring when i''m not running xen so is obviously not something brought on by xen itself. The strange thing is that the NMI error is always followed by the TLAN: eth0: Adaptor

glm binomial logit
Hi All, I am using "glm" function to build logistic regression. I noticed that glm function glm function is computing many other statistics which are not required for our analysis. As our dataset is very big and we have to run logistic regression on several samples the run time drastically increases if all those statistics are computed. Is these any way to skip computation in glm

EuroLLVM "Round Table" topics
Hi, We are looking for new "Round Table" topics (i.e. mini-bof topics - formally known as hackers lab). The round table sessions are a great way for us all to discuss face-to-face any burning topics. We have scheduled a table after each BoF sessions so that people can follow up on those conversation-topics. We will also setup round tables during the event when there is interest (i.e.
