cross-compiling for windows with linux
...n R-News
(the Makefile is a wrapper around other tools).
When I try to build a package using the (fairly recent)
'install.R' mecanism, the output leaves me not so confident
about the the usability of the pack built for Windows
(I am currently unable to verify it):

'R CMD check' gets apparently confused by '%' (PR#8198)
...f the check throws a warning
about mismatching doc and codoc.
While the '%' has apparently to be escaped in the .Rnw (otherwise latex soon
figures out that what is after on the same line is a comment), the warning
remains
whether or not '%' is escaped in the code.
The package 'splicegear' in Bioconductor (in the section "devel") is what
brought
me to submit a bug report.

Release of Bioconductor 1.3
..., with methods for accessing data
stored in PostgreSQL tables (Adapted from Rdbi.PgSQL, authored
by Timothy H. Keitt)
--- SNPtools:
Currently an interface to the SNPper data resource maintained at
Childrens' Boston, which curates SNP-related data from a variety of
sources.
--- splicegear:
A new package that works with oligonucleotide microarrays designed
to monitor or confirm the existence of splice variants. It can
extract simple splice-variant information in XML format. This is
demonstrated by the connectivity to an existing database of
putative splice variants....
