does anybody know why dvd use files for audio and video but audio cd's not? What could be the reason for this? e.g. they could make a file for each track and just put them on an audio cd and make cd players compatible with this format. I look after an x4500 for a client and wee keep getting drives marked as degraded with just over 20 checksum errors. Most of these errors appear to be driver or hardware related and thier frequency increases during a resilver, which can lead to a death spiral.
