mixtures as outcome variables
Dear R-users,
I have an outcome variable and I'm unsure about how to treat it. Any
advice?
I have spending data for each county in the state of California (N=58).
Each county has been allocated money to spend on any one of the
following four categories: A, B, C, and D.
Each county may spend the money in any way they see fit. This also means
that the county need not spend all the money that was allocate...

Systemd spends 6 min. to startup a host
Hi all,
I have a strange behavior with a CentOS7 host (fully patched). I have
configured nics as old style format: ifcfg- ... due to I need to use
openvswitch for my vms.
All works well, except when I reboot this server. Systemd spends 6
min. to startup this host!!! .. It stops with: "A start job is running
for LSB: Raise network ...".
Are not supposed that systemd startups

Fix a bug that causes the encoder to spend way to many bits on keyframes
Here is a fix that prevents the encoder from spending too many bits on
keyframes. The main problem is that the old code computes the target keyframe
bitrate incorrectly. This causes the code that computes the Q for the frame to
think that it has tons of bits to spend. It selects a high Q value for the
keyframe. Since so many bits were spend on the key...

Feeding the framework ?
Hi there,
Is it just me or do many other rspec / rpsec_on_rails users spend more
time than they would like feeding the framework ?
Don''t get me wrong, I love rpsec, but I seem to spend about 2/3 hours
per week hunting down rspec problems.
For example, today `rake spec:models` is broken. When I migrate, load
fixtures and run `spec -cfs` all is well. When I run `rake spec:models`,

Binning the data based on a value
Hello there,
I have a matrix with some data and I want to split this matrix based on the
values in one column. Is there a quick way of doing this? I have looked at
cut but I am not sure how to exactly use it?
for example:
I would like to split the matrix "a" based on the spending such that the
data is binned groups [0..99],[100..199]...and so on.
a <- data.frame(patient=1:7, charges=c(100,500,200,90,400,500,600),
age=c(0,3,5,7,10,16,19), spending=c(10, 60, 110, 200, 250, 400, 450))
Expected output -
bin[1] <- c(10, 60)
bin[2] <- c(110, 200, 250)
bin[3] <- c...

Looking for AOL, MSN, Yahoo "Rails Buddies"
I''m an independent software developer that spends a fair amount of time each
day working on Rails-related project. t''d be really great to meet some
people to chat about rails, software development, or whatever else geeky
stuff via IM!
If interested, shoot me an e-mail or reply here. Personally, I''m a little
apprehensive about putting all my info out there on a list

Need a SIP trunk provider for US - Dallas/TX
...ist doing something
similar and have any recommendations for a provider?
Of course I'll be routing either SIP/IAX to an asterisk server that will
be hosted in a Dallas colocation facility.
I found VoxBone.com but they only want to deal with customers that can
guarantee $500 minimum monthly spending. Until business ramps up, I
doubt I'll be doing that kind of spending immediately.
Suggestions?
