...grid, reshape, plyr, lattice, ReadImages, car But I have no way to find the .Rd file(s) that triggered this note. What is the tool used in R CMD check to make this diagnosis? It would be better if this reported the .Rd file(s) that triggered this note. Is it possible that this note could be specious? -Michael -- Michael Friendly Email: friendly AT yorku DOT ca Professor, Psychology Dept. [LLVMdev] Minimum Python Version
...so getting python 2.x/3.x concurrent compatibility will probably be imminently needed. From experience, Python 2.4/Python 3.x concurrent compatibility is just plain impossible. Also, I will point out that arguing that since RHEL 5 still uses 2.4 means we should keep our default at 2.4 is mildly specious, since running Clang on RHEL 5 has required, in my experience, several environment augmentations, most notably because the libc headers there won't compile in C99 mode, and I would be surprised if Clang is properly built by the default version of gcc there. > No current problems other t...

Using MySQL to store email?
So Timo, Have you considered the idea of storing all the email in a MySQL database? Seems to me that MySQL could somplify all the backend stuff that everyone struggles with and with replication one could create very massive and reliable systems. What would it take to use MySQL that way?

It?s a specious argument. No I'm saying it does a better job doing what most of its users want it to do rather than requiring them to knows esoteric things. It's not meant to be an dual boot comparison. And it's established that Cent OS does not push Windows aside. You have to do that outside the Cen...

Country numbering plan resources
Is there any good free / accurate online resources with detailed country numbering plans? Failing that let's get something running ourselves. I was also thinking maybe people present could contribute some information on this list for now. The countries I am after are below. To start this off I will provide the information for Australia +61 and New Zealand +64. NZ Cellular: area code 21

How many working SA's and Engineers at paid shops call up their Red Hat rep for something like this? This isn't the type of thing you demand a strategy conference call from them for unless you're absolutely huge, or you have a very bored manager. People just complained (heavily) ab...

SingleTableInheritance Considered Harmful
Here''s the text of a quick note I''ve added to the Inheritance wiki page. I''m actually proposing that it would be a good idea to drop automatic single table inheritance and force people to declare it explicitly. There are two reasons for this: 1. Implicitly doing it unnecessarially limits your use of inheritance where you really need it: in your object-oriented

Impossible or Possible to Securely Erase File on Btrfs?
Hi, After reading through the btrfs documentation I''m curious to know if it''s possible to ever securely erase a file from a btrfs filesystem (or ZFS for that matter). On non-COW filesystems atop regular HDDs one can simply overwrite the file with zeros or random data using dd or some other tool and rest assured that the blocks which contained the sensitive information have

ZFS and Linux
Hello, I believe that ZFS and it''s concepts is truly revolutionary to the point that I no longer see any OS as modern if it does not have comparable storage functionality. Therefore I think that file system/disk manager with similar qualities should be written for Linux. Does Sun have plans to dual license ZFS as GPL so it can be ported to native Linux? If not, is it legal to write
