Proximity searching in rdig ferret
Lucene has a syntax "foo bar"~10 for finding foo within 10 words of bar. Does ferret support this feature? (the ~ is used for fuzzy queries) Does rdig? This could be a deal breaker for me ''cos I really need proximity searches -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

retrieving search result positions
...o be able to run fairly simple queries. I then need to look at each term match, and get its document id and the character (not byte) position at which it occurs in the source document. My semi-illiterate reading of search.c suggests this is available, but looking at the SearchHits returned by a SpanTermQuery, they don''t seem to contain the methods I''m looking for. Segmentation fault on large index
I''m getting a segmentation fault on a large index (15GB). I''m running ferret 0.11.4 on OpenSuSE 10.2 with ruby 1.8.6. The segmentation fault appeared after I optimized the index, see further below for the error message I got before that. Ferret works perfectly on other (smaller) indexes. Is this a known issue, and if so, is there a workaround? --------------------- after
