I'm trying to setup per user '+spam' delivery from amavis tags, so that each user gets any mails tagged as spam to 'spam' Maildir via +spam Dovecot lmtp delivery. after say 7 days I want to delete all spams older than 7 days, if I simply delete mail files from the file system, is that a 'bad thing' ? what is a proper way to do that, and scripts ? for

Namespace with a single mailbox (for spam)
Hi there. Perhaps this is answered somewhere, but a short search through the mailing list and Wiki yielded nothing. We have spam filtering set up for all users, with all messages over some spam threshold going to a separate mbox. There is one directory containing the spam mboxes of all users (call it "/var/spool/spam", right now), with the spam box of a user residing in

imapsieve wrong matches on APPEND cause
Hello, I'm experiencing some strange problem with imapsieve mailbox rules matching. I have Ubuntu Server 18.04.1 LTS with Postfix 3.3.0, Dovecot 2.2.33.2 and Rspamd 1.7.9. The problem occurs with Microsoft Outlook 2016 mail client. When moving with Outlook, APPEND event is logged instead of MOVE. However, when moving with another client, MOVE event is logged. So without APPEND event in

Move messages marked as Spam
Hello I have implemented recently in my work bogofilter utility to mark messages as Spam or Ham, currently is working perfectly, but I want to move those messages marked as spam to a folder called spam. I installed dovecot-sieve with the intention of using fileinto to accomplish this. my question is: where I put this: require "fileinto"; if header :contains "X-Bogosity"

Spamassassin + Postfix : delete spam mail on the server ?
Hi, My mail server is running on CentOS 7 with Postfix, Dovecot and Spamassassin. I get quite a lot of spam on a few accounts, and Spamassassin does its job fine. Spam mail is identified correctly, and it looks like there are no false positives, e. g. valid mail is never identified as spam. When a message is flagged as spam, the subject line is rewritten to begin with [SPAM]. Then, a filter in

Training nnet in two ways, trying to understand the performance difference - with (i hope!) commented, minimal, self-contained, reproducible code
Dear all, Objective: I am trying to learn about neural networks. I want to see if i can train an artificial neural network model to discriminate between spam and nonspam emails. Problem: I created my own model (example 1 below) and got an error of about 7.7%. I created the same model using the Rattle package (example 2 below, based on rattles log script) and got a much better error of about

Sieve Advice Needed, Please
Anybody here familiar with the Sieve language? I'm rebuilding my mail server, and I am working with the sieve language to automatically filter spam into a separate account. However, I've hit a snag that I can't get around. BTW, I'm using a clean install of dovecot, postfix, spamassassin on Debian 7.5. I want to do server-side spam filtering, so I've got spamasassin

spam folder and POP users
I am new to actually running dovecot. I actually still use POP as I have for YEARS and thunderbird does not make it easy to convert to IMAP... My server is moving all tagged spam into the IMAP spam folder. Very nice for the IMAP users, but not for the POP users. Of course the server don't know, and the mysql database for users does not have any flags for this. Don't want my

Dovecot aspects of fighting spam
I see no documents in the Dovecot documents wiki on how Dovecot features can be used in the fight against spam. One hit came up in a search, and it was about how to fight spam in the MoinMoin Wiki itself (e.g. TextCHAs and such). I already asked in another thread about removing message files at the search from a designated "learn-spam" folder. My next question would be how to

installing spam package is failing (spam_0.29-1)
The primary error seems to be: "Creating a new generic function for "diff" in "spam" Error in setGeneric(f, where = where) : must supply a function skeleton, explicitly or via an existing function" And the full output follows. Any thoughts on what may be happening and/or how to work around the problem? Thanks! > install.packages('fields')

Dovecot LDA and quota
Hi List, I recently upgraded to Dovecot 1.1.3 on FreeBSD and got into trouble over the quotas. We implemented per-user quotas using plugin { quota = maildir } and protocol lda { mail_plugins = quota } We use a passwd-file userdb with extra fields, which used to be quota=maildir:storage:<bytes> which I changed to quota_rule=*:bytes:<bytes> What

Auto-subscribe but not auto-create
Hi, is it, somehow, possible to auto-subscribe a folder IF it exists but NOT auto-create it if it doesn't exists? We have folder 'Spam' which we are using to store messages marked as spam but users are not subscribing to it (most of them simply don't know what it means to subscribe a folder) and are complaining about missing e-mails (which are in 'Spam' folder but
