[SERVERBUG] failed to send mail with SA and antispam plugin
Thank you for your helpful hints on debugging this issue. I wanted first to get the mail which generates this error but unfortunately the user already deleted it as well from his trash. Now I got another hint and it looks like this mail had a big attachment to it. Is it possible that spamc generated this error due to the size of the mail?

spamc scripts in IMAPSieve docs.
Hello!
I noticed SpamAssassin *spamc* usage has entered the documentation at
https://wiki2.dovecot.org/HowTo/AntispamWithSieve
I'm wondering if the -C (report) option in sa-learn-ham.sh should use
revoke instead of report for --ham messages?
I started using imapsieve with spamc myself just a few weeks ago, but I
haven't...

procmail can't invoke spamc/spamassassin in 5.3 due to SElinux denials
I just discovered that my spam filters are not being properly executed
in CentOS 5.3 because when procmail attempts to invoke spamc. I have
spamd running properly, and can invoke spamassassin and spamc from the
bash prompt manually without any issues, however procmail fails with
"permission denied" then bails. Watching the procmail.log I get the
following:
procmail: Executing "/usr/bin/spamc"

dovecot-antispam: pipe backend with spamc failing to parse args
I'm trying to get the pipe backend to work with the new
dovecot-antispam (I was very pleased to see the new version, thanks

Before I would run the following over the maildir:
spamc -d 10.0.1.109 -L ham < $file 2>&1 > /dev/null
now, i'm using dovecot-antispam and mdbox and have the following
configured:

[SERVERBUG] failed to send mail with SA and antispam plugin
Thanks to your help Steffen I was able to find out the issue which was simply the size of the Spam mail as you can see here:
spamc[16545]: skipped message, greater than max message size (512000 bytes)
The spam mail was around 900 kbytes as such I have changed the spamc limit to 1MB. Bastard spammer who abuses this limit by attaching a big image...

spamc can't seem to call /usr/lib/dovecot/deliver
Hi,
My server uses a system comprised of postfix, dovecot and dspam to filter and deliver mail.
Postfix used the following flags in calling spamc and dovecot:
flags=DRhu user=dovecot:secmail argv=/usr/bin/spamc -u ${recipient} -e /usr/lib/dovecot/deliver -d ${recipient}
after an upgrade from Debian lenny to squeeze we were able to get everything working except spam filtering. Spamassassin is able to judge whether the mail coming in is spam...

Running spamc during LMTP delivery
...s with root
rights and can drop privileges to become the specific user for which
it is delivering mail.
We would now like to run SpamAssassin with the possibility of using
the antispam plugin to enable virtual users to train their
databases.
Do you have an idea how I could let dovecot-lmtp invoke spamc? Or an
external command as a filter, to be run by the final user?
Thanks,

Defaults of CentOS Install not working with SELinux
....
For most applications I selected the default options. By doing this I
expected that the packages would play nice with one another and I
could customize as necessary.
Setting SELinux to enforce I encountered all sorts of problems - but
most were resolvable, save for Dovecot, Procmail (for spamc), and an
odd one with Apache.
Given that these were all installed with the CentOS install defaults,
I can't believe I am the only one with these issues but finding a
solution has not been self evident. Hoping someone here can help.
For Dovecot I get the following:

How about a "pipe" plugin?
...this:
(...)
namespace private {
separator = .
location = maildir:/var/mail/%u
inbox = yes
hidden = no
}
namespace public {
separator = .
prefix = learn.
location = maildir:/var/learn/%u
inbox = no
hidden = no
}
(...)
plugin {
(...)
pipe = /var/learn/%u/.spam:spamc -d some.host -L spam
pipe2 = /var/learn/%u/.ham:spamc -d some.host -L ham
(...)
}
Would people be interested by such a feature? If enough people show
some interest, I can try to convince my boss to let me release this
plugin GPL-licensed.

spamassassin, postfix with dovecot lda?
...erences
became my concern (Bayesian filters and classifier), I realized that
spamd should be called by the LDA. With procmail this was a trivial
issue, with dovecot-lda I was unable to find any solution on the web or
other documentation.
So my question is as follows:
Is there a way to call spamc from dovecot-LDA (and/or
dovecot-sieve), or is there an alternate way to do this for a site with
virtual mailboxes configured with dovecot-lda?
Thank you all in advance,

How to use filters with the LDA?
Hi,
I am trying to deploy dovecot LDA and liking it so far. However,
I need to pass the message through some filters before it's
delivered to the user (e.g. spamc). I realise I can just set up
a chain (postfix delivers to spamc, pipes to foo, pipes to bar,
pipes to deliver), but there's no reliable error handling with that
approach.
Furthermore, I cannot seem to figure out whether sieve can pass
messages through external filters, or how you'd do tha...

Sieve to process list mail based on list-ID
...nd possibly some other data) I thought I'd check if someone had already done this for sieve.
Basically, what I do now in procmail is
1. Get the listname from the List-ID header (or List-post/List-owner if no ID)
2. check against a list of list-ids and if the ID is not on the list, send it to spamc and put the message (if not spam) in the INBOX but mark it as seen, otherwise put it in Junk.
3. have some list specific rules (like rewriting reply-to, stripping subjected tags, etc.
4. Drop message in mailbox based no the ID.
(so, dovecot mail goes into .dovecot/new but RandomFakelist gets sca...
