Mono encoding w/ a stereo source.
Crew, I've run into something a little odd with the vorbis encoder and would like some input. I use SpacialAudio's SAM3 Broadcaster and am having problems with the ogg encoder when I create a mono output stream. It seems as if the signal level of the left and right sides are being combined before the encoding process, leaving the sound muddy and overdriven. As such, if I reduce the output level by 6...

FW: Song Metadata from 3rd party source?
Hi Robert, You can find a clue to the use of the "HTTP Adaptor" in the following SpacialAudio knowledgebase article: http://www.spacialaudio.com/knowledge/question.php?qstId=110 I've tried this and it works! Steps: * Enable HTTP Event Adaptor in the "Config->Event Adaptors" dialog. * Restart SimpleCast to enable the server on port 8181. * Make sure one of you encoders ha...

Actually it was. Thats why each frame co...

stream delay
I noticed that my ogg stream was 2 hours behind today. Is that a normal thing with all icecast streams? I had other people try it that have never been to that stream and they were 2 hours behind too. What is that caused from? How can that be fixed? Thanks John http://www.kqlz.org

Re: desire box
I know SAM2 (or rather, SAM3 now) has this functionality built-in: http://spacialaudio.com/ It is disabled by default and difficult to step though. Not to mention the cost of the entire application. What I found worked the best for me is to have my website output to a file whatever song somebody clicked on. A script would check the file every few seconds, and then execute my media...

Stats Bug?
...now I can't reproduce it. I'm guessing simplecast reads the /admin/status.xsl and something gets corrupted so it can't read the page correctly. It may also just be a simplecast icecast issue. I've posted a link to the simplecast forum and other people talk about it. http://www.spacialaudio.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3540&highlight=stats ----- Original Message ----- From: "Karl Heyes" <karl@xiph.org> To: <webby@seneca-rez.net> Cc: "icecast" <icecast@xiph.org> Sent: Thursday, September 02, 2004 5:05 PM Subject: Re: [Icecast] Stats Bug? &gt...

However, I can't > say for certain without you giving a LOT more detailed information. I am using simplecast from spacialaudio.com which uses the winamp mp3pro input plugin to encode mp3pro. This is a windows program which takes from the soundcard and streams to either Windows Media or shoutcast or icecast 1 or 2 servers. What happens is that maybe once an hour or maybe longer, I either get connection reset by peer for t...

Stats Bug?
I use simplecast as the source into my icecast2 server. It has a built in stats program but the problem is that If my icecast server has over 2 mount points the stats stop working and the only way to fix it is to restart the icecast server. Is there anyway to fix this bug myself? Inactive (Error parsing xml document: Invalid at the top level of the document.||||Line: 1||empty result) That

In need of a Streaming solution
Hello My company is looking for a mp3 streaming solution for a client. We will have an online catalog of music for people to listen to. Our client only wants the user to be able to listen to the music and not download it. Is this possible using icecast? Does icecast support requests? If icecast is not the solution I need, can someone point me into the right direction for mp3 streaming

icecast2.2 and aac?
...MP3 format, but really good at this (free to use). The guys of shoutcast made als nsvtools (look at the video stream forums at winamp.com) witch is capable of streaming video, but also audio only ans is capable of streaming AAC (with a dolby codec) (free to use and very beta) There is http://www.spacialaudio.com/ witch have a complete DJ package SAM and a winamp plug-in capable of streaming MP3pro, OGG, WMA, LAME MP3 and MP3 (no freeware) All of them are windows capable and a lot of them support other platforms like BSD and other Linux variants too. Having trouble listening to station with Audiorealm player.
Hi, I am having trouble listening to my live broadcasts using the audiorealm player. I am using SAM4 and MySQL with Icecast2. My operating system is Windows XP Home edition. The track info and history all show up fine, but the sound is still missing. I have been trying to get this to work for over a week now with no success. If there's anything else I need to tell you, please let me know.
