FreeBSD 4.5, Samba 2.2.4_1, W2K client "printer properties cannot be displayed"
Hello, I have a FreeBSD 4.5-RELEASE box running the SAMBA 2.2.4_1 port. I have successfully added a printer driver to the unit, and when connecting from a Windows 2000 client, I get the driver successfully installed. I then converted the system to a PDC and added a test machine to it's domain. I can connect to the printer, it downloads drivers, but when I choose printer properties, I get:

...t backups of your samba directory (once things are working), so you can revert to that in a worst case scenario. This is especially important when you have a drivers database (tdb file) that cannot be "hacked" back together. -t -----Original Message----- From: Kevin Long [mailto:KLong@southlandInd.com] Sent: Thursday, June 06, 2002 12:15 PM To: 'samba@lists.samba.org' Subject: [Samba] FreeBSD 4.5, Samba 2.2.4_1, W2K client "printer properties cannot be displayed" (Embedded...

VFS unavailable on FreeBSD 4.5-RELEASE
Despite the COMPLETE ABSENCE OF DOCUMENTATION* on the recycle bin vfs module, I'm still attempting to get it to work on FreeBSD 4.5. When I visit the examples/VFS directory, I cannot do a "make", despite libtool being installed. The error is: make: don't know how to make audit.so. Stop I have also discovered that even if I explicitly tell configure --with-vfs, vfs never gets

request for an info tool
Hi, I'm fighting with the recycle module, this time on Linux*, and what would really help me is a tool to determine what samba is compiled with, including any modules - like the info tool that Apache has. Anything in the works like that? ~ Kevin Long ~ * if anyone has compile instructions to make this work, please send them to me or the list. I need to be able to do it from source, not an

The dreaded SPOOLSV.EXE error
I'm seeing quite a few SPOOLSV.exe postings here, so I figured I'd share my experiences with you, as I have run regular NT and W2K print servers that also cause this. There are essentially 3 reasons for this. In order of likelihood: 1) Drivers that mismatch the Windows version 2) "full" spooler directory 3) bitmap fax drivers Number 1 is the prime culprit. Even if you have
