Hi! I have a Asus P4C800 Deluxe motherboard with an onboard sound card. According to the mb. spec it's a ADI AD1985 SoundMAX 6-channel CODEC, AC'97 chipset. I'm running FreeBSD 5.1R and have device pcm in my kernconf. I have just finished installing all the pieces of Redhat Linux 9 (2.4.20-8), Asterisk-0.9.1, Gnophone-0.2.4 on my IBM T30. Audio card is SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio. ...periencing sound problems. When I configure the Audio Tunning Wizard all seems fine, but whe I make a call the sound quality is the worst. The sound is very noisy, with very low volume and gaps without sounds. I've tried with 3 desktops CPU with the same result. The onboard sound device is a SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio and the OS is Windows XP. The firewall is disabled. I also have tryed with a Clon PC and the phone works fine. Hi I have installed CentOS 5 on my computer which has an Intel ICH5 sound chip. The card appears as it should, and I can adjust the volume just fine. However, when I try to play a sound file(.ogg for instance), rhythmbox plays through the file, but no sound is heard.
