Asus onboard sound problem
Hi! I have a Asus P4C800 Deluxe motherboard with an onboard sound
card. According to the mb. spec it's a ADI AD1985 SoundMAX 6-channel
CODEC, AC'97 chipset. I'm running FreeBSD 5.1R and have device pcm
in my kernconf.
The only thing I see in dmesg output related to the card is
pci0: <multimedia, audio> at device 31.5 (no driver attached)
Full dmesg output available at http://kore.hack.se/dmesg....

dueling audio

I wouldn't fiddle with the fader as some cards use the same setting for
playback and record level. But you should be able to mute it just fine by
checking the mute checkbox for the line in.

IBM T30, Redhat 9, Gnophone, mono PCM, Internet PhoneCard
I have just finished installing all the pieces of Redhat Linux 9
(2.4.20-8), Asterisk-0.9.1, Gnophone-0.2.4 on my IBM T30.
Audio card is SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio. Not sure what the chips
are. But everything works on both W/XP and RH9. (Machine is obviously
dual boot)
Everything starts, Asterisk is up, sound/audio is great for CD player,
Volume controls, Voice recorder, RealPlayer, etc.
I have disabled all references (I think) to c...

X-lite and Dell Optiplex
...periencing sound problems.
When I configure the Audio Tunning Wizard all seems fine, but whe I make a call the sound quality is the worst.
The sound is very noisy, with very low volume and gaps without sounds. I've tried with 3 desktops CPU with the same result.
The onboard sound device is a SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio and the OS is Windows XP. The firewall is disabled.
I also have tryed with a Clon PC and the phone works fine.
Does anyone have experienced this problem? Which was the solution?
Any help will be apreciated, many thanks in advance.

CentOS 5 sound problems on ICH5
Hi
I have installed CentOS 5 on my computer which has an Intel ICH5 sound
chip. The card appears as it should, and I can adjust the volume just
fine. However, when I try to play a sound file(.ogg for instance),
rhythmbox plays through the file, but no sound is heard. I've tried as
root, and I've tried doing cat /dev/urandom > /dev/dsp, and it's all quiet.

AEC with different soundcards
Hi
?
I used this "sample counting " method to?resample and put my audio signals in synch.
It worked perfectly?in XP machines using a SoundMax?audio card, but it failed in other XPs using Realtek cards.
As seen on http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/speex-dev/2008-September/006889.html?my application?continously checked my AEC level to slighly modify resample frequency, but convergence was impossible with?that audio?cards.
Then, I used ASIO...

Playing Games with Wine while listening to music
I have this problem: When playing a PC game via wine while listening to music with let's say Amarok, there's no sound in the PC game anymore. It's like the sound channel is occupied by the music player so wine cannot playback any soundfiles.
Sounds are working if I play a Linux game like Nexuiz while running some music via a music player (ok, completely different, I know, but

Xen patches merged to upstream Linux 2.6.36, plans for 2.6.37?
Hello,
It looks like upstream linux-2.6.git contains at least the following
xen related new features for Linux 2.6.36:
- Xen-SWIOTLB support (required for Xen PCI passthru and dom0)
- Xen PV-on-HVM drivers
- Xen VBD online dynamic resize of guest disks (xvd*)
Congratulations!
What are the plans for 2.6.37 merge window? I believe at least:
- Xen PCI frontend
Others? I''m going to
