Disk space usage with mdbox
Hello,
I am using dovecot with mdbox+sis and I notice an ever increasing disk
space usage since I converted mailboxes from Maildir to mdboxes. I have
checked with a user and while it actually uses only 65K, his mdbox files
on disk are more than 6G. The backup of his mailbox is just 64K. Any
suggestions ?
Below are some relevant commands:
[root at mail ~]# doveadm quota get -u test

of it. I have a daily cronjob which includes:

# Permanently expunge old Trash
doveadm expunge -A mailbox Trash savedbefore 2w
# Optimize mdbox storage
doveadm purge -A
# Update fts indexes
doveadm fts rescan -A

LDAP authentication
Hi again
I'm trying to authenticate a user against an LDAP Server (well, our
AD, but it can LDAP).
This is my configuration:
hosts = my.server.local
auth_bind = yes
ldap_version = 3
base = CN=Person,CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=company,DC=local
scope = subtree
user_attrs = \
=home=/home/imapproxy/%u, \
=mail=maildir:/home/imapproxy/%u
pass_attrs = uid=%u, userPassword=%w

...ot;purged" the deleted mails for this user?
On mdbox you must run "doveadm purge -u $USER" to whipe out any as deleted marked mails etc.
Details: http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Tools/Doveadm/Purge
I use a nightly cronjob wor this.

Write failure on distributed volume with free space available
Hello,
Thanks to "partner" on IRC who told me about this (quite big) problem.
Apparently in a distributed setup once a brick fills up you start
getting write failures. Is there a way to work around this?
I would have thought gluster would check for free space before writing
to a brick.
It's very easy to test, I created a distributed volume from 2 uneven
bricks and started to

Optional mail attribute in ldap
Hello,
I am using an ldap database (active directory) for dovecot
authentication and I am trying to change the mail location for some
users only, thus any mail should be delivered to the default location
unless the ldap query returns a successful result which defines the mail
variable.
I have chosen the AD atttribute "otherMailbox" and added for the
required user the value
