Samba filename spaces problem
...quot;), and this works fine with samba 2.2.5. However, new SuSE system has samba 3.0.7-5 installed and this does not work anymore. I've tried fiddling with samba configuration, but without success. Does anyone have an idea how to make this work? Renaming files on linux is not an option. Ideal soulution would be to configure samba 3 to work the way samba 2 works on our older system. TIA, -- Marko ICQ: 5990814 I'm not under the alkafluence of inkahol that some thinkle peep I am. remove mails from shared folders
...a user move an email out of the email pool, the other users still can see the mail in the pool. It takes a long time to remove the mail from the pool for every user. Move TO the pool works immediatley. The user can make a "compress folder" to remove the emails but this can't be the soulution. Maybe this is a client failed (tested only with thunderbird) Best regards Patrick Fischer

Hi all !!! I have a firewall bridge (not router) with two nics that filter p2p with ipp2p. All works fine but now I need to add a third nic to route all p2p traffic through this nic. It is that possible with a bridge ? Later (with other server) connect to this nic I do loading balancing with two adsl lines to route all p2p traffic. Any hint ? Any howto ? Thanks in advance. roberto --

smbd 100% systemload
...ted, but last week the machine went down. an analysis of the problem has showen, that with increasing uptime there is a growing number of smbd processes that caus 100% CPU utilation. tests have showen, that i can kill these processes without harming smb conecctivtiy. this is a workaround but no soulution. i've absolutely no idea what causes this and what i can/should do to track this down. any suggestions ? No subject
Dear R-friends, i just look at http://www.statistik.uni-dortmund.de/leute/ligges.htm to download scatterplot3 and saw a write and read wav-files library. So i wondered if R can play wav-files. This would be very practical, espacially when you do some long computations. If not, can R play a system beep or something like that? Thanks, Thomas

[LLVMdev] VC++: Cannot open include file: 'windows.h': No suchfile or directory
Yes, it should find windows.h with the default configuration. But you have to be suspicious of beta code that Microsoft gives out for free. It might just be very buggy, or it might be deliberately crippled. Considering the price tag on Visual Studio, it's one or the other (and probably both). Out of curiosity, did it accept the solution and project files as is, or did it want to

Error handling
Hi I wrote a function implementing an algoritm for simulation of spatial sampling plans (using geoR). I'm using a range of parameters to perform several simulation and sometimes this parameters create function errors wich cause the algoritm to stop. How can I avoid this ? Below there's a small example that I made to study the problem but I was not able to solve it. I've tried

Machine accounts, Samba 3, NT Domain migration
Greetings everyone I finally succeeded in doing the seemingly most difficult thing, "following directions." I got my act together configuring the smb.conf and migrating using net rpc vampire into tdbsam. There are issues with this migration in which computer netbios names which are obviously all uppercase were not being created in /etc/passwd. I put my C cap on and converted the computer

unexpected behavior in bwplot
R-2.1.1 on windows XP I just noticed something unpleasant when using bwplot (from lattice). In order to satisfy a wish from a client, I needed to produce sets of boxplots conditioned by another factor. My client didn't like the look of the boxplots (by default, they have a star to mark the median, instead of the commonly used line). I told him "no problem" dumped panel.bwplot,
