Where to best start looking for voicemail/moh sound quality problem?
I'm running Asterisk 1.2.13 on a Solaris 10 X86 box behind an IPCop firewall on a 5Mbps down/512 up cable connection. I'm having sound quality problems when users call in for voicemail and with music on hold. The sound is choppy and muffled while souding pretty good for calls inside the network. I'd appreciate some pointers as to where to start looking to improve things. I've tried setting QOS paramters for IPCop but I'm sure that had any effect. Frank

Team Fortress 2 Issues
Hello there, After downloading the latest version of wine, latest graphics drivers and install Steam through PlayOnLinux, I tried to launch Team Fortress 2. The initial Valve sound played and then the menu soud, but there was absolutely no video/display. Checking the processes list, hl2.exe was still running, so obviously something is going wrong here. My system should be fine, as I used to run

Old SAMBA and WinXP....
Ok, here's a simple question, (I just rejoined this list so apologies if it has been asked a million times before). Our Company runs SAMBA 1.9-18p1 from a USS (Unix System Services) on an IBM Mainframe. I used to have WinNT 4.0, and I could access Files on Windows Explorer through SAMBA with no problems. Now I updated one of my workstations to WinXP Pro., and - no access to the Samba

cuepoints: accuracy, titles and players
Thank you Josh, the link clearly explains FLAC's philosophy and it souds quite logical: "For FLAC the intention is that applications can calculate the CDDB or CDindex ID from the CUESHEET block and look it up in an online or local database just like CD rippers and players do. But if you really want it in the file itself, the track metadata should be stored separate from the CUESHEET, and

cuepoints: accuracy, titles and players
Hello, I managed to insert cuepoints from a cue sheet and check them with metaflac. I witnessed that the FLAC headers then had additionnals sections (one for cuepoints and one for seekpoints), but i could not find documentation how the format used to store them (frame counts for both ?). Anyway it seems that cuepoints must be specified in MM:SS:fr format. It would be nice if those could be

Samba -- Just Do It!
...working kids that packed my shirt and help make this project work! So while I don't have the expertise to contribute to about 95% of the discussion, I can try to put my contributions where they are truly needed. I can also ask everyone else to help out and contribute in the same manner without souding like a complete newbie. (no chance of being technically incorrect) So my message/plea is simple. Everyone, simply try and think about the financial side of the open source equation and do what you can to make the project work. One great way for everyone to do this is to set a goal to buy a shirt b...

Package for multiple membership model?
Hello all: I am interested in computing what the multilevel modeling literature calls a multiple membership model. More specifically, I am working with a data set involving clients and providers. The clients are the lower-level units who are nested within providers (higher-level). However, this is not nesting in the usual sense, as clients can belong to multple providers, which I understand

Centrally stored policies with group settings
Dear *, we are stuck and cannot find anything on the Net or the documentation. Background ---------- We are currently working on a project that aims to migrate Servers from a Windows NT domain to a Samba based domain. The migration, as always, should be completely tranparent to the Windows Desktops and their users. There are about 300 users and may be 20 groups. Issue ----- The current domain
