skipping growing files?
...tever is there already? I suppose a -mtime like feature would also solve this problem for me in that the client could specify a mtime option to force rsync to ignore files that were changed within the last minute or so. And I suppose one could also solve this using the find command on the soruce machine and --files-from in the client rsync. (And yes, there's probably a non rsync, even non technical solution to my real problem, but I'm still thinking on it.) Thanks!

...ourceforge.net/projects/flac/files/flac-win/ > with only old compiles. Thats correct. Xiph is responsible for the FLAC source code. Xiph does not provide binaries for Linux, Windows or Mac. Xiph assumes that people on Linux are getting FLAC via their Linux distribution or are compiling it from soruce code themselves. If someone has a link to Windows or Mac binaries for the latest release, please let us know and we will update the download page. We may even be willing to host the binaries on the Xiph web site. Hope this clears things up. Cheers, Erik -- --------------------------------------...

Icecast deadlock with 1.3.12 (fixed)
Folks- First, let me submit a disclaimer... I know 1.3.12 is unsupported. However, since icecast2 isn't officially released, I'm abit SOL anyways, so I'm currently trying to debug it and will release a patch when I'm done. (Which I'm doing since the code is GPL and I want to contribute... if no one cares, let me know and I'll stop updating the list with what i find)

On this page: https://xiph.org/flac/download.html there are links to OS specific builds of FLAC on sourceforge, but all the main links are to Xiph. Are you sure you're looking at the Xiph page and not the old sourceforge page that may have been cached by your browser? Erik --

Icecast deadlock with 1.3.12 (fixed)
Folks, I email abit ago about using 1.3.12 in my environment, and fixing a dead-lock problem. Since 1.3.12 is 'obsolete', not supported, and GPL I'm provided a patch to the mailing list of my changes to the the src/soruce.c distributed file. (Its small but significant, as it allows for transparent relays to work) I need to use icecast 1 until icecast2 is a) released and b) supports transparent relaying like icecast1 does for the time being. If anyone else is in the same boat, the following diff fixes problems...

some files already gzipped causes rsync to not compress any?
...o the non compressed files. If none of the files in the directory are already compressed we get the expected compression of the data. The data in question is Oracle rman files that typically get 2.5x compression. We have worked around this by either compressing all of them or none of them in the soruce directory. But this behavior seems odd. I looked through the changelogs between my version and current but didn't see anything. If it is fixed in a newer version, please let me know (and if it is in the changelog, I apologize in advance). Please let me know what additional information is nee...

XMMS plugin cannot play b3 encoded files
Hello, The subject pretty much says it all. I downloaded the beta 3 RPMs and installed them. Encoded a disc with the and XMMS segfaults when attempting to play them. However, there are no problems playing files from a prior release. FYI, Pat -- "You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake!" - Tyler Durden <HR NOSHADE> <UL>

Newbie question: 28000+ files for 25000+ records?
Hi Obviously my question is, is that normal? To have so many files? I was indexing 6 string fields from 25000+ model records (all of the same model). The index appears to be working. I guess I was expecting a few hundred files after optimzing, not more files that records indexed. Please understand I am brand spanking new to Lucene, Ferret, and AaF. I was using acts_as_ferret with :fields

Xen on two node DRBD cluster with Pacemaker
Hi all, could somebody point me to what is considered a sound way to offer Xen guests on a two node DRBD cluster in combination with Pacemaker? I prefer block devices over images for the DomU''s. I understand that for live migration DRBD 8.3 is needed, but I''m not sure as to what kind of resource agents/technologies are advised (LVM,cLVM, ...) and what kind of DRBD config
