Can not delete file
I have a backup folder on a network NAS drive (Verbatim running smb)
There's a mozilla-thunderbird lock-file there, which I can not delete.
The file is a (broken) link.
Thunderbird is not running. ps -A | grep moz yields nothing.. besides
which it's only a backup file
I (accidentally) created to more link files linking to the original
file.
ls -la gives me:
$ ls -l

No audio? Update your Asterisk
This morning we discovered a serious bug that stopped all bridged audio
in our Asterisk servers. Mark found the problem and soon fixed it.
If you get this problem today, please update your Asterisk server. A fix
has been commited to the subversion repository for 1.2 as well as trunk.
A fixed 1.2.3 release will be published on ftp.digium.com as soon as we
can find a release engineer (consider

v1.0.0 released
http://dovecot.org/releases/dovecot-1.0.0.tar.gz
http://dovecot.org/releases/dovecot-1.0.0.tar.gz.sig
It took almost 5 years, but it's finally ready. I'm not expecting to
release v1.0.1 anytime soon, unless someone's been sitting on a major
bug just waiting for v1.0 to be released. :)
People wanting new features should start testing the upcoming v1.1.

[PATCH] lib: docs: State that guestfs_list_filesystems is no longer requires to be used soon after launch when nothing is mounted
guestfs_list_filesystems uses mount/umount to discover btrfs sub-volumes and since 1.37 it generates random mountpoint so it will longer affect already mounted filesystems if either.

Can I play a game as soon as it's released?
How does Wine work exactly - will I fx be able to play Portal 2 as soon as it's released.
And does it make a difference whether I use steam to lauch a game or just uses the game's own software?

Hello,
I'm looking for US DID and US50/CA 800# Providers.
I found voiceconduits.com 8 month ago, there interface looks good, but
there are still not live, I believe they won't be any time soon.
I found sixtel, but order take eternities, they probably won't get my
orders right any soon.
So i'm looking for a good provider for DIDs and 800# from the US and CA,

nmbd dies as soon as it's started
As soon as I start up the daemons using the following commands, nmbd dies.
/usr/local/samba/bin/smbd -D
/usr/local/samba/bin/nmbd -D
When I view the nmbd.log it gives the following. We're trying to set up
Samba to work over 2 subnets. Smbd is ok and we can still mount our
shares. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for any help.

Coming soon ... a Rails Virtual Applicance
For those of you interested in such things, I am building a VMWare virutal
machine with a complete LAMP stack plus Rails. The project is set up in
Rubyforge at http://rubyforge.org/projects/vgrails/. There''s not much there
yet, but I expect to have something ready for folks to test towards the 12th of
April, 2006. The project name is "vgrails", which stands for VMWare + Gentoo +

zfs root eta?
Hi, I was just wondering if ZFS root is likely to be an install
option any time soon, either in SXCR or the June Solaris update?
The mechanism at Tabriz''s blog seem to work well, but it''d be nice
to get it out of the box.

Hello to all Samba-users, and,
in particular,
Hallo an die deutschsprachigen Anwender von Samba !

Hi All,
I have made an attempt to summarize the different comments that were raised so far.
An answer has been provided inside. Please let me know if I missed any comments or got them wrong.
*** Hal Finkel: Handling FP_CONTRACT ***
*****Comment: The current specification provides a mechanism for handling FP_CONTRACT, but does so only at the module level. After much debate,

Will there be a new release soon?
Hi,
Is there going to be a 1.5.1 release anytime soon? Seems like there have
been enough changes in SVN to warrant one and I prefer to use only
"released" code in production. It gives me warmer, fuzzier feelings than
using svn/trunk. :)

Dan

Will there be any support for iLBC in IAXClients soon?
Hello Folks,
I noticed that all of the IaxClient based softphones with exception of
Firefly only seem to have support for GSM but what about iLBC?
The quality is excellent with iLBC even on a dialup connection! Meanwhile
while the audio on GSM often sounds scratchy. Is anyone looking to
implement iLBC in an IaxClient based softphone soon?

Harris picking up before extension
Hi there!
I'm setting up a connection between Asterisk ver. 1.2.13 and a Harris
20-20 PBX. More less everything went fine, but the problem I have now
is when dialing to the Harris PBX, it seems to pick up my call as
soon as it reaches it.
For example if from the Asterisk outgoing folder I dial an extension,
say 100, and play a prompt as soon as it is picked up, the promt is
beign played as

Attended transfer: transferring a call as soon as the destination starts ringing
Hi all!
Ext A, B and C are SIP phones.
Ext A receives a call from Ext B. Ext A wants to transfer the call to Ext
C. Ext A puts the first call on hold, dials Ext C, then simply hangs up as
soon as the call to Ext C starts *ringing*. In other words, Ext B wants to
be sure Ext C is ringing (i.e. it is not busy or unavailable) but doesn't
want to talk to him.
Unfortunately, as soon as Ext A

On Windows tinc-up.bat started too soon?
Hi all,
I have run into the problem on the windows machine that the
tinc-up.bat command/file is started too soon. I set-up additional
routes there and when I manually start the tinc daemon I get
complaints that the routes can not be created because the host (the
"other" tinc host) is not local on the network (i.e. the vpn is,
according to Windows, not up yet).
Is this a known

R-2.0.2 soon?
Hi,
There has been a continuous stream of development updates
since R-2.0.1 and I'm wondering if it is anticipated that
these will crystallise soon into R-2.0.2?
Or is it likely that we must wait rather longer?
With thanks,
Ted.

vorbis-tools release soon?
Since it's been almost 2 years since vorbis-tools 1.2.0 was released,
would it be reasonable to see 1.3.0 soon? There are plenty of changes
in there that deserve to see the light of day - the ReplayGain support
in ogg123 and the vcut fixes in particular have my attention.
