I have implemented a small local network. I use pfSense as Firewall and Gateway, I have all my servers inside a DMZ, except the domain controllers that are on the LAN. Yes I have /var/run/samba/ , I spotted the error with not having an actual filename while I was posting this message. Does the pid file need to be in the same path as samba ? ...th notepad++, make an edit and save it, then it will copy successfully. If I open it with regular Notepad, and edit/save the file, it still fails. Changing the filename/extension did nothing. Is there a way on windows to view extra attributes or something?
