Songbird with wine
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello guys, I'm new into this list. I searched into the list looking for something about Songbird, also the website, and I didn't find information about my problem with wine. Let me tell, I want to run Songbird, the last release into my Slackware machine, so I got the exe and tried to install it. The installation works perfectly, also it completes; but when I want to try the Songbird.exe e...

Running Songbird in Wine.
I'm currently running Ubuntu 10.04 and have installed Songbird for windows. When I connect my archos mp3 player, Ubuntu finds it right away but Songbird can't see it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

1.1.3 panics
Hi, Installed Dovecot 1.1.3 today and started receiving panic errors on a few of our users: dovecot: [ID 107833 mail.crit] Panic: IMAP(xx): file mail-index-transaction-view.c: line 204: unreached When I upgraded, I deleted all of our users index files so it started with a clean slate. We are running mbox format over NFS with fsquota plugin on Solaris 8. Here is output of dovecot -n:

...egfaults, which it probably shouldn't (I didn't have time to look into the cause). As far as I know they are valid ogg bitstreams (ogginfo passes them okay), even if the contents aren't proper media types. On a completely irrelevant point, are the Annodex people aware of <http://www.songbirdnest.com/>? This is going to be an itunes-like media player/web browser built around XULRunner. From their website: "Songbird can view Web pages as dynamic playlists that it can play, save, or automatically download every day." -- imalone

Testing Poisson GLMs with independent data: what's the Right Thing To Do?
...n is not R-specific, but I've struck out twice on sci.stat.consult, so I'm turning to the R community. Even if it's a silly question, I expect that someone present will probably tell me so... I have been using multiple Poisson GLMs and similar count-re?gression models to analyse forest songbird abundance data. Many of the spe?cies-level models seem to fit the data pretty well. My next task is to validate/verify/test these models using an independen?t dataset collected for this purpose (no, really!) It seems obvious that I should apply predict.glm() to the new covariates and then somehow...

Calculation of slope for Poisson regression
Hello, I am analyzing time-series data for multiple songbird species in northern Canada where data were collected at 3 point count stations within a stand (~150 stations) visited twice a year and with multiple observers. I am using a linear mixed effects model (lme4) that includes year as a fixed effect and observer, station nested within stand (to account f...

eudora issue
...to the user, and the connection fails. Can anyone shed any light on this? Is it just that there is an incompatibility in how eudora and dovecot view the protocol? Or is there some configuration option I need to tweak to make things work? Thanks for any help. Kent -- Kent Crispin kent at songbird.com SIP: 81202 at fwd.pulver.com

Welcome to the "Vorbis" mailing list
I'm a newcomer to Ogg Vorbis and I am trying to get it to work on my Mac OS X 10.4.11 and Quicktime 7.5.5 so that I can play the following CBC radio stations through iTunes. http://www.cbc.ca/listen/ogg.html I tried XiphQT and couldn't get that to work so I downloaded Ogg Drop. It seemed to install fine, but I still can't get either of those radio stations to play either from

The use for an XML based metadata format
...sidetracked by the multiplexed streams compatibility stuff at the time, that and trying to learn XPCOM to produce a FF plugin (something which was going to take far more time than I had). A Rhythmbox plugin is probably the easiest target, though something Windows based would get a wider audience, Songbird might be good as it's built on top of a platform which is designed to handle XML. P.S. does anyone know what XMP actually does? Whenever I look at it all I can find are descriptions of how the embedding is done. -- imalone
