rsync without POSIX ACLs
Hi, I?m trying to rsync from an IBM SONAS, that has no POSIX ACLs. I thought that without the ?p flag, this should still work, and the destination will just inherit permissions, however, it doesn?t. My source directory on the SONAS looks like: ~$ ls -la /net/sonas/directory d--------- 2 user group 36 Oct 9 12:59 ./ d--------- 2 user g...

problems with saving plots from loop
Greetings, I cannot find solution for this problem (I was searching on web, but without success): I want to plot dose-response models for one concentration and many responses (lets say 200) and I don?t want to do it manually. So I use loop for this: for (i in mydata[,2:201]){ #first column is concentration pdf(paste("plot_",i,".pdf",sep = ""))

Building on the success of the SMB2.0 server in Samba 3.6, the Samba 4.0 file server component is an evolution of the trusted Samba file serving code that is used worldwide by vendors of file servers, such as IBM's clustered Scale Out Network Attached Storage (SONAS), and many other commercial products. GPFS for mail-storage (Was: Re: Compressing existing maildirs)
...filesystem, and change most settings without downtime. You can scale out your workload by adding more nodes (SAN attached or not), and scale out your disk performance by adding more disks on the fly. (IBM uses GPFS to create scale-out NAS solutions http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/storage/network/sonas/ , which highlights a few of the features available with GPFS) There's no problem running GPFS on other vendors disk systems. I've used Nexsan SATAboy earlier, for a HPC cluster. One can easily move from one disksystem to another without downtime. Cons: It has it's own page cache...

REPOST: queuepause/queueresume and w2k machines, won' t work
[Shane Drinkwater] Daniel, I have the same probelm. These are the steps I did in a previous thread... Jim, I think I found another bug... I really seem to be in printer hell :(.... I found that windows 2k doesn't update its status "ready" or "paused" when used with samba. Here is what I did... 1.) enable all of the lpr/lpd queues. check em' with lpq... 2.)
