Re: Re: multiple isp. masqueraded machines somtimes work and somet
Why ping google ??? you should either ping your assigned external ip address ( make your config dhcp for your external ip address even if it is static ) ( If your dsl link is up you sould have an address if not you should not ) If for some reson you cannot do that, ping your isp''s default gw or someone closer. With google you never know what is going on. I do something similar with -m

iptables miss up phone calls if not used properly
...r little help at the same time: i used iptables to secure my server, so i wnet ahead and blocked avery thing except a couple of domain protocols and UDP ports of SIP, IAX2 and that range 15000 to 20000, tested it and OK. when in production, the calls were taking a huge time 7s to be established and somtimes after call setup people cannot hear ech other (but not all the time which weird), so iptables can miss up performance if not set correctly (even if it's working, stuff like this can happen). so if any body have some lines of iptables that secure server and don't cause performence trouble t...

mismatched callerid on phone and CDR ?
Hi, Using asterisk 1.4.21.2. For some calls (usally telemarketers) entering through a BRI zap channel I somtimes notice the callerid on my polycom 601 phone and the CDR's 'src' field don't match. They are even totally different. And the displayed callerid is nowhere to be seen in the CDR record. Is there a rational explanation? -- http://www.lesculturelles.net

Intermittent failure
...suspect (though I'm not sure) all troubles started after the upgrade from 4.1.6. The setup is quite simple: no AD, no LDAP, only one server. A command as simple as "smbclient -U user //SERVER/SHARE", if fired up several times in a row on the server itself, will sometimes succeed, somtimes fail. Same happens for "smbclient -U root -L //SERVER". ...to launch Steinberg Wavleab via wine 20041019 (from scratch on debian 3.1 emulating installed win98) with kernel 2.6.9 I saw that software running under SuSE 9.1 (with latest wine's RPM package for this distrib). This is the only error i get. Sometime, Wavelab's splash screen comes and somtimes it does not. Knowing the meaning of this message would help me to find where to search to solve the problem. Thaks a lot.

x100p card - detect dialtone?
Does anyone know if there is a zapata.conf option to tell * to listen for a dialtone before dialing? I've got a couple of analog phones on a pstn line shared with a x100p * fx line. If someone is on the analog phone and another person initiates a call through * to use the same line, * dials over the top of the existing conversation. Is there a way to have * detect dialtone before dialing?

Ringing does not terminate on mISDN after pickup
Hello, I am having something of an odd problem: about every 100 calls or so, when a call comes in via an external mISDN interface and I route it to an internal mISDN interface by dialing an internal msn that is programmed for multiple phones on the internal bus, somtimes the other phones continue ringing for several minutes after the call has already been picked up by one (or even eventually hungup already...). As you imagine this is really annoying... I don't seem to be able to narrow it down in any way: show channels is empty (provided, call was answere...

Having tone in my fxs, and loading the zaptel
...pt. Now, sometimes when the hardware restarted, we discovered that no tone in the handset connected to the fxs ports. And sometimes it work normally, no rule. To resolve it, I stop asterisk and then I type modprob -r wctdm and then I restart the machine using init 6 , and sometimes it come up and somtimes I repeat this twice to come up, so what could be the issue? I know that make config is making a problem, but could it be my problem related to using make config? So I have to write the init script? If yes, I need a link to know how to write the init script manually for my digium and other cards,...

First login VERY slow only with XP client
...s perfectly well with an heterogeneous set of machines (linux-samba clients, NT clients, W2k clients) BUT there is a problem with XP clients: the very first login on the domain takes a HUGE time (~10min). It is similar to the experience of Marcel J.E. Mol (seen in the archives: May 2002, subject: (somtimes) very slow access: windows-xppro samba). Note that it is only the first login right after a reboot of the machine. Once you log off and on again, it takes a reasonable amount of time. If you experienced and solved this problem, I'd really appreciate any help. Laurent. PS : samba+ldap is th...
