Having difficulty exporting display
Hello, This is my issue, my remote machine (CentOS 6.3, hosted in Azure windows environment) has an application that I need to test on my local box (CentOS 6.4, a laptop behind a router). Now, this is what I'm doing and the issue that I'm encountering: Local: $ xhost + $ ssh -X someusername at somehostname.net -p 49283 Remote: $ export DISPLAY=192.168.1.6:0.0 $ xclock ... and nothing, it just sits there and no xclock shows up :( . I'm fairly convinced that this is due to my router, but I don't know how to deal with it. Any ideas? Am I way off in my guess?

pdbedit bug?
If I try to do the following: /usr/local/samba/bin/pdbedit -a -u someusername -U 5000 This works as one would think, the account is created with a RID of 5000. But when I do: /usr/local/samba/bin/pdbedit -a -m -u somemachinename -U 3000 It does not work as you would think. The account is created but with the RID of the Unix UID*2+1000 not, a RID of 3000 as specificed on...

performance issue with UID SEARCH
Hi, I'm running dovecot 2.2.x and I'm having an issue where I see many dovecot processes use all the available IO on a server. According to iotop the worst offenders seem to be in this state (NOTE: I swapped in phony username & IP info): dovecot/imap [someusername 123.456.789.012 UID SEARCH] The server in question is running with Maildirs on top of an XFS filesystem. Is there anything I can do to optimize "UID SEARCH" or find out why it's being a problem? I've read https://wiki2.dovecot.org/PerformanceTuning and the linked pages. By &quo...

winbind nss info = sfu is not so much working
...r authentication as well as for the source of nss info. When winbind is configured to use its own local id maps, everything works fine. But when i configure winbind to use 'ad' as the source of nss info, authentication fails, 'getent' commands return no results, and 'wbinfo -r someusername' returns nothing (though wbinfo -u and -g work correctly). I am guessing that either there is something wrong or lacking in my config, or that some kind of caching is messing me up. Here is my pertinent smb.conf stuff when winbind is configed to use local id maps: -------------- winbind e...

"auto fallthrough" hangup on 1.2.1
I upgraded from 1.0.9 to 1.2.1 My IVR which worked perfectly on 1.0.9, now hangup with no reason (at least I could not find a cause) When this hangup happen, I can read: == Auto fallthrough, channel 'IAX/user-20' status is 'BUSY' This happening also with ZAP channels I'm really disappointed with 1.2.1, what is benefit from upgrade if I must spend couple days to get my system

IAX trunk with dynamic IPs
...peer (the one that has just gotten a new IP). If I manually issue a "iax2 reload" in the CLI, asterisk tries to find the IP of the peer (based on its DNS name) and everything starts working again. This is the section for my trunk in one of my servers: [sometrunk] type=friend username=someusername secret=somesecret auth=plaintext host=host.no-ip.org context=incoming peercontext=incoming qualify=yes trunk=yes Is there any way to tell asterisk to try to find the peer's IP address if that peer is "unreachable" or each 10 minutes? Thanks in advance. Ronaldo.

Weak DBI support for MSSQL (was rails and MSSQL transactions)
There is something seriously wrong with DBI support for SQL server. I have tried both DBI::ODBC and DBI:ADO and the following code always fails. ---------- Code require ''dbi'' host= "DEVELOPMENT_DATABASE_SERVER" database="adventureworks2000" username="someusername" password="Somepwd" db = DBI.connect("DBI:ADO:Provider=SQLOLEDB;Data Source=#{host};Initial Catalog=#{database};User Id=#{username};Password=#{password};") sql= ''Select FirstName, LastName from contact'' sth = db.prepare(sql) sth.execute # Print out eac...

Remote upload apache files
Hi all, I need to upload files to /var/www/html on our remote centos box. The perms on /var/www/html are stock from the install, (drwxr-xr-x root.root). I set the box for ftp, but (obviously) normal users can't write to that directory. I don't want to allow root ftp logins (I've also disabled root ssh logins, so scp doesn't work either), and I don't know how secure it is

smbclient seems dead
Hi everyone, First of all: I am not a member of this list, so any message you send to the list(regarding this subject), please send them to me too. When I do smbclient //somemachine/someshare -U someusername and then enter the correct password (Windows), then I get a smbclient prompt. If then do ls, a directory listing is given. So far, everything is ok. Now, I cd two directories down the tree, and then do ls in that directory. In this state all smbclient gives me is a carrot to indicate that it'...
