Sometimes yes - sometimes no (dialplan)
I am confused about one of my installed server The dial plan seems to be ok, but sometimes NOTHING happens if I try to dial an extension (from X-Lite), next time it is done. X-Lite does not have a tone, nothing and does also have no time out. It seems it is not connected to the server. However, a sip show users / sip show peers shows that the phone is connected. What could be th...

Does anyone know why sometimes a PDC appears in the Network neigborhood, and sometimes it doesn't?
The subject says it all, I think. At home I have a PDC (Linux with Samba), and I have Win98 and Win 95(!) clients. And sometimes the domain name (workgroup name) is visble in the Network neigborhood, and sometimes it is not. I also got the impression that placing a link in the file NETHOOD makes a difference, but I am not sure yet. The PDC is visible, that is, it can be PINGed, I can connect to the shares, I can even l...

Xapian with Json
...o index json data to be able to search by name/value pair and Full Text Search using only Xapian. I did haven?t success to found a complete or a good documentation about json index and search. Do you know some documentation about ? Another problem that I have is that: In the same name/value pair sometimes I have different data types (date, text, number), so I don?t know how to search in it. Maybe that's a ridiculous question, but I?m a newbie. For example: { ?id?: 10, ?dinamic_fields?: [ { ?field_name?:?Name" ?field_value?:?Carlos Antonio" }, { ?field_name?:?Birt...

RGui (Windows) crashes after use of a Salford Fortran DLL
Anybody out there successfully using the Salford Fortran compilers with R? I have created a DLL using the Salford FTN95 compiler and it works in as far I can dyn.load it, run the routines and get the right answers back. Unfortunately subsequently, sometime later, the Rgui crashes (access violation I think from the DrWatson log). The crashes depend on whether or not I paste the code as one big chunk, or as little chunks, and sometimes I can do a few things before it crashes and other times not - but if I do exactly the same things the crashes ar...

Bug? backup_dir sometimes reported on STDOUT, sometimes not.
Running rsync 3.0.6 on OS X 10.5.7 (on a MacBook Pro) and using the -b flag (and -v --verbose), the "backup_dir" is reported in the output, but sometimes on STDOUT and sometimes somewhere else. Note that the rsync daemon running on the "server" is 2.6.9 (on another MacBook Pro, OS X 10.5.7) For example, in bash, this happens: axe-MBP:bin work$ /usr/local/bin/rsync -aub --dry-run -v --verbose -- exclude '*~' --backup-dir=/...

te110p sometimes green, sometimes stays red on stable cvs ?
Hi, we've installed te110p with Suse 9.2 on Siemens primergy. We're connecting to voxsteam i60 to test PRI interface. We have problems, after reboot sometimes it goes green, otherwise stays blinking red. How could we debug this situation ? Are there any common advices what to check ? Are CVS Head drivers better than CVS stable ? Why ? Do you also experience such unstable behaviour ? Thanks in advance, regards, Rob.

Multiple NICs on Asterisk box
Hi All, Long time no chat ;-) Asterisk 1.0.9 (sometimes) won't authenticate IAX phones after re-boot of SuSE 9.3 box I've traced the problem to be with the firewall and the fact that I have 2 NICs in the box. Now that I have opened port 4569 on both interfaces, asterisk seems happy *but* does anyone know how to force SuSE 9.3 to always br...

sometimes dtmf passed, sometimes not (cisco 7960 SIP)
Hi list, I'm hoping that I'm being stupid, and someone can tell me what's going on, but for the life of me I can't figure it out. (it's been a long day, and I'm now in the last 3 weeks of organising my wedding, so I hope this makes sense ;) ) When at my desk, accessing (for example) my voicemail, the dtmf tones are passed perfectly, I can enter password, change

incomplete window contents when unminimizing
Hi, Using Xgl, when a window is unminimized, sometimes (especially with Firefox), the window contents are not immediately visible (partially or completely) until an unminimize animation is completed. That is, sometimes there are empty (transparent) rectangles within the window (maybe corresponding to some Mozilla controls), and sometimes the whole wi...

Sometimes echoes & Asterisk sometimes connects too early
Hello, I have read the articles on echo cancellation (http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk), but couldn't find a solution to my problem. We are running Asterisk 1.4.12 together with an EICON DIVA SERVER BRI-2M PCI (current driver from EICON) and some SNOM 300/360. There are few clients where we recognize echoes on both sides when we call them via ISDN. With some of these clients we

Problem sourcing file
Hi all, I created a file to define some functions. When I try to source this file, sometimes it works but sometimes I get the following error: >Source(‘File.R’) Error in srcfilecopy(filename, lines, file.info(filename)[1, "mtime"]) : unused argument(s) (file.info(filename)[1, "mtime"]) It works when I just started the R session, but after using some...

substring/strsplit question
Dear R People: Here is a toy example: > x <- c("2E","5W","12H") > substr(x,2,2) [1] "E" "W" "2" > Sometimes x has 3 elements, sometimes 2. I want to extract the last element, and then extract the other 1 or 2 elements. How can I do this, please? SIP + NAT = horrible mess
Hi Guys, After days of fiddling, I can't really get my SIP device to work communicate with Asterisk behind NAT. Sometimes the STUN server is flaky, sometimes the device isn't reachable if the connection is dropped and then put back on, sometimes it registers OK, sometimes it doesn't, etc. I've come to the same conclusion as the wiki: it's probably better to avoid this horrible mess by either usin...

Moving email from a folder to another using IMAP isvery slow (sometimes)
...00% CPu and it is very slow when I move an email from an imap folder to another imap folder and then I typed: strace -tt -o /log-imap.txt -p <process number> well, during the trace the imap process doesn't crash and it is very fast. If I stop the tracing, I have again the problem and sometimes the crash of the process. Any help? Weird xl mem-set behavior
...n some system. It''s a system with 8GB of RAM, running 2.6.38-6 with pv_ops and Xen 4.1 If I want to set the amount of memory for dom0, I get very bogus results. See here: http://pastebin.com/gRgY9ERN If I use the M notation (xl mem-set 0 4096M) the outcome is similarily unpredictable, and sometimes I get the memory set to something like 200-300MB and in rare cases a kernel panic. Also, if I set the "dom0_mem=X" kernel parameter, the amount of memory Xen gives to dom0 is fairly random... sometimes 2GB, sometimes 6GB, sometimes ~500MB, regrardless of what value I use or the unit I...

script/console cursor goes crazy sometimes on XP
I''m on WinXP SP2, Ruby 1.8.4, Rails 1.1.2. Why is .journal file sometimes visible and sometimes not?
Hi. I recently migrated two machines from ext2 to ext3. Kernels (nearly identical) are 2.4.9-ac9 + preemptivity-patch + wrr-patch. The Installations are based on Mandrake 7.2 + 8.0. Also I have e2fstools-1.23 newly compiled on them. Both machines have two ext3 partitions (root + multimedia-data). On one machine I see a .journal file on both partitions, on the other machine (Mandrake-8.0)
