regarding freepbx
Hello, In older version of freebpx if you write somethng manually in the configuration files it was flushed by amp, i.e. you can configure it through the interface only. Is this this thing still present in freepbx? _________________________________________________________________ Don't just search. Find. Check out the new MSN Search! http://searc...

Is it a good idea/required to run winbind
We've been running a samba service for many years but have stuck using 3.0.24. Every version I tried after 3.0.24 seemed to have reliability problems. But if every version since 3.0.24 was broken I assume someone would have noticed by now :-). So I'm guessing we're doing somethng idiosyncratic and/or stupid.. The config we have is that our samba server (solaris) is getting uid/gid info using NSS from ldap. But all the users are also in an ADS domain which is synchronised with the ldap servers by an identity management system. So we do authentication from ADS. The relev...

What am I missing here?!
OK, I've tried changing my printcap name from printcap to cups. Printing works fine locally using CUPS on the Samba box. What am I missing here? Why can't I print to the Samba box via the Windows and linux clients? Shared directories work fine. I am really frustrated here and have exhausted Google and all other resources I have. Here's my smb.conf for what it's worth.

Fitting a mixed negative binomial model
Dear list members, I want to fit a nonlinear mixed model using the nlme command. My dependent variable takes the form of event counts for different countries over a number of years, and hence I was going to fit a mixed effects negative binomial model. The problem, as far as I can glean from Pinheiro & Bates 2000, is that I need a model that is not normal in the errors. All the models they

dovecot 1.2: dict no longer really support DICT_ITERATE_FLAG_RECURSE
Hi, In dovecot 1.1, I could use DICT_ITERATE_FLAG_RECURSE when iterating over a dict to retrieve all entries that start with a given prefix. This doesn't seem to work anymore in the new dict implementation in dovecot 1.2. Looking at the SQL queries actually generated, it seems as if dovecot 1.1 used to generate queries that use pattern matching (key LIKE "my/prefix/%") whereas

Towards a solution of tmp-file problems.
Introduction. ------------ Every now and then a new "exploit" turns up of some program that uses tmp files. The first solution was "sticky bits", but since links exist (that''s a LONG time), that solution is inadequate. Discussion. ---------- The problem is that you put an object (link/pipe) in the place where you expect a program to put its tempfile, and wait for

Do I have an infected init file?
Hello; I'm running a FreeBSD 4.10-release-p2 box and both chkrootkit 0.44 & 0.45 report that my /sbin/init file is infected. It appears as though the egrep for "UPX" in the output of "strings" triggers the infected notice. When I copy the init file from an uninfected box to this one chkrootkit continues to report it as infected. Is chkrootkit reading a copy of the
