config.gem vs require 'somegem'
I am very confused by the config.gem statement in 2.1
If I put config.gem ''pdf-writer'' in my environment.rb I get the
following error when I try to instanciate a PDF object in my
controller with the statement pdf = PDF::Writer.new

Troubles with using gems in Rails
Hi!
I''m observing some problems using gem inside Rails. My understanding is
that after following sequence in irb:
$ irb
irb(main):001:0> require ''rubygems''
=> true
irb(main):002:0> require ''active_record''
=> true
irb(main):003:0> gem ''acts_as_taggable''
=> true
I should have access to acts_as_tagable mixins, like:

I have two PCs, one with Windows XP and another with Windows Vista. I''m
working as an administrator in both computers. I''m using Ruby 1.8.7 and
Rubygems 1.3.6. When I try to install Rails I get this error:

Installing Feedzirra (and Curl/Curb) on Windows Vista
I''m trying to use Feedzirra within my rails app and am having a
mountain of trouble trying to get the gem installed.
Running "gem install pauldix-feedzirra" gives me the following output.
