[Fwd: Re: Exporting a samba mount]]
Christopher and the list: Gee... I wish it would! My probelm currently is the fact that if I add this line to /etc/exports: /mnt/MountedSambaShare somebox(nohide) I get: somebox:/mnt/MountesSambaShare: Invalid argument This happens whether /etc/exports says "somebox(nohide)" or "somebox(ro)" or "somebox()". Note that /mnt/MounteSambaShare is in fact properly mounted via smbmount (actually a fstab entry specifying s...

Exporting a samba mount]
...re mounted on one Linux box? I have successfully mounted the Windows share on the Linux server box, but when I edit /etc/exports to include the new mount and run exportfs, I get error messages regarding the new export. For example, if I add this line to /etc/exports: /mnt/windows_share somebox(rw) I will get the following error when running exportfs: somebox:/mnt/windows_share: Invalid argument I do have other NFS exports from native local filesystems working just fine! Thanks in advance! Paul

DO NOT REPLY [Bug 3465] New: --files-from does not --delete
...lmco.com QAContact: rsync-qa@samba.org If a file is on the destination box but not specified in the file given to --files-from option, shouldn't the file be deleted? Actual command: rsync -vrptgz --delete -l -P -e rsh --stats --bwlimit=120 --timeout=1600 --files-from=files.txt /src somebox:/src I want the files and directories under somebox:/src that are not listed in files.txt to be deleted. This is on AIX 5. (Perhaps this is a feature request?) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.samba.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are...

Block public namespace mail when quota exceeded
Dear All, is it possible to temporarily reject mails, when quota of public namespace subfolder is exceeded? I'd check folder size with a cronjob. Dovecot is using a system user, so I guess blocking post and insert in ACL isn't a solution? I don't want to set the folder to read-only, that users can still delete mails. Thank you in advance. - Chris

User/Machine RID generation error?
...ne until recently. The first thing that I noticed that new users were suddenly being assigned SambaSID's that were previously being assigned to machines. Previously: Typical User Entry: uid: john sambaSID: S-1-5-21-xxxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxx-2416 Typical Machine Entry: uid: somebox$ sambaSID: S-1-5-21-xxxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxx-3134 Now: Typical User Entry: uid: jack sambaSID: S-1-5-21-xxxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxx-3136 So the next time I tried to add the machine newbox, I get this error: -------------- pdbedit -a -m newbox -d100 ----------------------...

trouble with winbind
Hi, I'm running samba, V3.0.20b-3.4-SUSE, on suse el9. I've successfully bound one machine to active directory, I can login to the local box using domain credentials. However, I can't get a second machine to the domain, using the exact same procedures. The machine claims to be bound, wbinfo -t returns "checking the trust secret via RPC calls succeeded" But, when I
