opendir(somedir/somefile): Not enough space -- why?
...igured properly as a service in the rsyncd.conf file.
I started rsync in daemon mode on the HP-UX server, and from the Linux
server I invoked:
rsync --numeric-ids -vvva root@hpuxsrv::apps /vol1/asic_apps/
The file list get transferred, but then I just get repeated lines of errors:
recv_file_name(some_dir/fm_v200209)
opendir(some_dir/fm_v200209): Not enough space
I have tried with --blocking-io and --no-blocking-io, with --bwlimitXXX.
Same problem each time.
Any insight is appreciated.

new --pattern option
...''t same as before (rspec 1.08).
Now it also loads all other files in current directory and in all
subdirectories and not only from directory and subdirectories given to spec
as a parameter.
So, for example, I have something like this:
.\some_file.rb (which I don''t want to load)
.\some_dir\some_other_dir\some_other_files.rb (I don''t want to load these
also)
.\my_test_dir (has many subdirs and rb files in it - I want to load all .rb
files from THIS dir)
now, I execute rspec like this: spec -p **/*.rb my_test_dir (and having
working directory . of course).
Now I get some err...

Basic subscribe-loading-unsubscribe button
(This is a beginners'' question)
I can''t seem to find this in the wiki or in the list archives. Button
says "subscribe". User clicks. Button says "loading". Then button says
"unsubscribe". (or the other way round)
Apologies for the simplicity of the question, but any help is appreciated.

dynamic public directory
...using the howto on using subdomains as account keys to make
it easy for my users to access their accounts. I was wondering if it
might also be possible to assign different public directories based on
the subdomain.
so for example, when a user enters user1.example.com/index.html rails
would look in some_dir/user1/public for index.html and when it''s user2
it would look in some_dir/user2/public etc...
I could set up a route to controller ''fetch''
this controller would work out the users public directory based on the
subdomain and then return the requested file from that direct...

Re: hide shares from some users
...he -x bit) for world/others on
the directorys that you want hidden from others. these same directories
need to have group ownership assigned to the group that is able to see
them, and r/w/x bits set at the owner/group level. So, unix permissions
may look like this:
drwxrwx--- user group ..... some_dir
as long as the x bit is not set on a directory, samba will not allow it
to be visible at that permission level.
The other way you could accomplish it would be to make the directories
not browseable, and have user specific logon scripts that map the
shares you want them to be able to access.

Importing file in html (noob)
Hi People,
I''m pretty new to rails so please bear with me on this.
I''m wanting to pull a text file into my rhtml page to use as the header
part of my site. I know I can use layouts but it isn''t pratical for my
problem as there could be hundreds of user made headers.
So there are two ways I can see this happening. One is to store the
location of the file in the

wine handles an app weirdly in ubuntu 8.04
I have a little Windows app which under Windows does not require
installation. When started the first time, it creates in its own
directory three files with desired configuration options I choose at that
time. The next time started it simply uses those files.
I copied the folder with the app and old config files to my Ubuntu 8.04
desktop and here what I have.

schily tools
Hey folks,
I'm reading up on gtar for tape archiving and it sounds kind of nasty and
not something I really want to rely on.
It looks like star from the schily tools is preferred. I'm using Centos
(and RHEL) 5.7 which seems to have star but not sdd.
Which leads me to believe that the Schily tools are maybe a bit "rogue"
My basic requirement with what I'm doing is to use
