Slow computation in for loop
...data)
}
}
}
With the 'hardest' set of parameters, a single computation of the function
take about 16s on an old Sun Sparc workstation with 64 Mb RAM and don't
access a single time to disk.
But when I launch the for() loops (which generate 220 function calls), disk
gets very sollicitated and the whole process takes as much as 8 to 10
hours, instead of the expected 1 hour.
What's wrong here ? Is there a thing I don't know about for() loops, and a
way to correct it ?

How come fsck still kicks in and reports major errors with Ext3?
.../etc/fstab:
LABEL=/ / ext3 defaults 1 1
Now, why is that when the power went off and later came back, I had to
go for an hour with fsck trying to fix the HD? Isn't journaling
supposed to prevent this? I had no feeling that the journal was
sollicitated at boot time when the system detected errors. Is my Ext3
properly setup? Is this normal? Where resides the journal BTW? Are
there config files for Ext3?
This is probably a FAQ, but since this group does not have an archive
(I have not seen the link on RH's page if there is one), I cou...

Multicast (ICMP6 router solicitation) flood
Hello,
I am a happy user of tinc in multiple environments. It is beautiful - thank you!
Today I noticed that a network of around 20 nodes suffered from a flood of
packages like the following:
IP6 fe80::e4eb:74b6:57e0:c3e1 > ff02::2: ICMP6, router solicitation, length 8
For the first ten hours these nodes (even the usually completely idle ones) have
seen incoming traffic of around 1 MBit/s

How to select the scale parameter for Gabor transform (Rwave)?
Dear list,
I am trying to choose the scale parameter for the cgt transform but I don't
know how to do it. In time I would like to be able to separate points 30
samples apart, and in frequency I would like to separate bands 0.04 Hz
apart. I tried the two approaches described below and they gave me
different results. I would appreciate advise on how to do this.
The Rwave Gabor transform uses

[LLVMdev] seeking advice
I recently subscribed to the LLVM and Clang developer mailing lists, and
earlier today read a message requesting advice on "Contributing to LLVM
Projects". I'm hoping to eventually get involved as well, but with my
situation being very different to that described in the referenced thread I
got the idea of solliciting advice seperately. If this is not the right
place to ask, though,
