ksoftirqd_CPU0 extreme CPU usage

is at 90%) and we discovered the process ksoftirqd_CPU0 could consume up
to 50% of that.
We are using a 2.4.26 kernel and have NOT compiled any optimization
regarding network besides those available on Leaf.
This problems have appeared since they stared to use the firewall
(sohrewall based) so we think has to do something with it or iptables or
tracking table or whatever.
At this time they have around 50 zones and they use all of them. Could
this be a problem? I have been reading about iptables performance and
know it reachs a limit around 500 rules and then starts degradati...

I don´t know any IPSEC settings in /etc/shorewall/sohrewall.conf. I only
know about /etc/shorewall/ipsec and tried out many things like this.
