Current bristuff error report
Hello,
I just noticed an error in the current version of Klaus-Peter Junghanns
bristuff package, especially in the HFC module.
Everytime I try to unload the HFC module with "modprobe -r" I got a
kernel panic and the complete server hangs up so I need to do a hard
reset.

I did not try to reboot yet...? Would be a pain to have to reboot every time I need to plug drives.? :/

Intel 1000/PRO GT (e1000 driver) and "Detect Tx Unit Hang" error with 4GB RAM

driver for Linux,
version 7.6.9.2. I still experiencing the "Detected Tx Unit Hang"
message. I had to
recompile the kernel because upgrading to 4GB with the current kernel
for CentOS 5
(2.6.18.8-1) causes an error, ata1: softreset failed (1st FIS failed),
which results in a
kernel panic. Upgrading the kernel to 2.6.23 fixed that problem, but
now I have a problem
with my network cards.
Searching around, I found posts saying that disabling acpi with the
kernel options
"acpi=off noacpi" would fix it, but it did...

Set font and size in xterm
I have a situation where gnome console does not handle vt102 escape
sequences properly and therefor need to employ xterm instead. When
I run xterm from a gnome terminal window I am presented with an
extremely small terminal window employing an almost unreadably small
font.
I have attempted to set the font size using xrdb and a custom
.Xresources file. I can change the colour scheme. I can
