[OT] Urgent request
...eo memory module used in the PC 300PL (Types 6862 and 6892) is 2 MB 512K X32, with
100MHz SGRAM.
The video memory module used in the PC 300GL (Types 6275 and 6285) is 2 MB 256K X32, with
100MHz SGRAM. The PC 300GL (Types 6275 and 6285) can be upgraded from 2 MB SGRAM to 4 MB
SGRAM with a 2 MB SGRAM SODIMM. The SODIMM can be plugged into the SODIMM socket on the
system board.
I know, this machine should have been scraped a long time ago.

also, try and scrounge another DDR2 SODIMM for that thing, according to
my google search, it supports up to 2 x 4GB == 8GB, and you said you
only have the stock 2GB. 4GB will be way better performance with a
GUI, 8GB would be even better. you still have a really slow CPU and if
its still got the original 5400RPM HD, a really slow HD...

Hype The Time Quest Regression
...the error message. Who put that in; it's pretty cool? So I used the details button and got the backtrace and put it here: http://pastebin.com/7srywFKG.
Because people usually ask, here's my hardware info:
Dell XPS 8300
Intel i7-2600 processor 64-bit @3.4 GHz
Winbond Motherboard
8 gigs of SODIMM DDR3 RAM @ 1333 MHz, 4 two-gig sticks, only 4 slots
Winbond A03 BIOS
[SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio] CA0110-IBG (sound card)
ATI Redwood [Radeon HD 5670] (graphics card)
But mind you, last time we had this bug, it did not work on my laptop either (haven't tried laptop + Hype + Wine 1.4 rc 1 yet). So I...

They are dirt cheap on ebay, from Hong Kong with free shipping. I would
go all the way and max it out.
I would also recommend that you go for a light weight DM suc...

CentOS 7 + Dell Latitude E6420 laptop = thermalshutdown
...RPMs. It _did_ click loudly once and
then appeared to pick back up. Attempts to run the test aren't yielding
any high spin up/down noises like I'm used to hearing from other systems.
Current thermal readings (inside of the diagnostics screen):
CPU Thermistor: 65C
Ambient Thermistor: 27 C
SODIMM Thermistor: 39 C
Video Thermistor: 54 C
Back on the topic of the diagnostics, I'm running a CPU stress test and
the CPU Thermistor has grown to 69 C.
After some time the fan speed has finally increased to 3257 RPM and I
can finally clearly hear that it is spinning. Once the test completed

Re: memorial day kernel panic {Scanned}
...ack to your supplier for them to check.
I actually found a memory testing system for around $4K, yes
it's about the cost of a well equiped server, but if it
works well it should earn it's keep pretty quick.
It's called RAMCHECK, I priced out the DDR/DDR2 unit, but
there is add-ons for SODIMM, SDRAM, EDO, if you got it
fully loaded I suspect it would be around $5K.
Company's called Innovations http://www.memorytesters.com/
They're Government registered and CDW seems to resell it,
so it isn't completely suspect.

Power burn test
I need a program that will just run everything at max so I can measure
the max power used on some systems. My 'Kill a Watt' meter should show
up early next week.
SO run that CPU at max, using all memory, and keeping the harddrive
spinning.
I can jsut do pings on the lan card for it to stay awake.
I have searched here and on the net and have come back with nothing.
