wait4ifup
Hi, I have just installed 2.0.1 on two boxes. One box did not have shorewall on at all and the other had 1.4.10 on. Both these boxes are Debian. On the 1.4 box it upgraded fine, and everything works OK. The /etc/init.d/shorewall script runs on startup and loads shorewall fine. On the clean box the /etc/init.d/shorewall script does not seem to work. When run it produces no output, so on bootup

Resizing lvm fails with fedora20
Hi, I'm trying to resize a 15GB LVM root partition on a fedora20 server with a fedora20 guest and I'm having a problem. Is this supported on fedora20? I recall having a similar problem (maybe even exact same problem) all the way back in fedora16 or fedora17, but hoped/thought it would be fixed by now? # virt-df -h test1-011015.img Filesystem Size Used

samba_backup
Hallo, i tried to backup samba4 by using the samba_backup script. I removed ?>/dev/null 2>&1?-Pipe from the tar-commands. Tar could not archive the temporary msg-files, because they where open. My question is, do I need the temporary msg-files for a complete samba4 database-backup? Thank you. tar: ./private/smbd.tmp/msg/msg.31043.1: socket ignored tar:

Locking problem reported when starting smbd on a second systen!
I was successful installing and configured Samba 2.2.5 on my first Solaris machine. However, the second Solaris machine returns errno=11 (EAGAIN ~ Service Temporary Unavailable). I have tried to delete the "locks" directory to remove possible "old" locks - upon startup the smbd create new log files, but the same errors are reported again. Why only on one of my systems - I

multiple auth-client sockets
...x's smtpd process (which uses the auth-client socket) runs chrooted under postfix's spool directory, I must create the auth-client socket under that spool directory. However, to reach that socket from another chrooted program is impossible. Can I create multiple instances of auth-client sockets? I tried to define another client {} stanza in socket listen {} in dovecot.conf, but only the last client socket got created. I need only a true or false response from dovecot regarding the authentication, and I thought that this is exactly what auth-client socket will do. However, if I can not...

R socket communication
Hello, I tried to code a R socket server but I did not succeed. The problem is that once the R socket server is created, I call the readLines function and then R gets blocked. The client seems to work fine since I tested it with a PERL server. I tried many combination of params in the socketConnection but none of them worked. I have seen some examples where the server sends something to a client

Segfault on read.socket with long message
I'm trying to implement a connection between two processes using a simple socket mechanism. The messages are rather long object stored as JSON. R is crashing with a segmentation fault when I try to read my test message (which is 5305 bytes long). I first send the length in bytes and then I send the actual message. Here is my R code: library(jsonlite) library(futile.logger)
