conditional recoding a variable
I have a variable that identifies citizen type but some of my rows are blank. I want to replace the blank entries with the correct value which is conditional on another variable. In SAS, my conditional statement would be as follow:
if citizenType="" and primarylanguage="English" then citizenType ="US citizen"; else citizenType=citizenType;
When I try to duplicate this

[LLVMdev] Socialize!
If you're in the bay area next week and would like to socialize with
your peers in an environment where talk about LLVM is encouraged, then
you should come to the LLVM Bay-Area Social!
The next LLVM bay-area social will be Wednesday, Oct 5th, but at a new
location! Yard House in San Jose isn't the most transit accessible, so
we'd appreciate anyone willing to drive others. On the plus

[LLVMdev] Socialize!
Is LLVM IR more than a compiler IR? Have we made progress on moving to git?
And how does the greedy allocator work anyways?
This month's LLVM social is happening today, at 7pm in a new location! I'm
looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Good Morning. Below I like statement like
j<-grep(".r\\b",colnames(mydata),value=TRUE); j
with the \\b option which I read long time ago which Ive found useful.
Are there more or these options, other than ? grep? Thanks.

LLVM Bay Area Social July poll
Hello all!
I've received a few concerns about the date of the upcoming bay area LLVM
social. In particular, the 5th of July is a holiday for some people, others
won't be in town, etc.
So, I was wondering what peoples' thoughts are on moving next month's
social to July 12th.
Chandler volunteered to make a Twitter poll for this; I'll let him link it.
To be clear: this is just

Cambridge LLVM Social, Sep 6th
The next Cambridge Social will be pushed a bit further into September,
because of the holidays and the LLVM Cauldron. It'd be nice to welcome
international LLVMers on the cauldron week.
But that also forces the day of the week to be on a Tuesday. With the
Cauldron in Hebden Bridge, people will be traveling on Wednesday
evening and there would be no point in holding the social then.
So, the

[LLVMdev] Bay Area LLVM Social - August
Next bay-area social is this week! Thursday August 9th at St. Stephens
Green! Come socialize, try to recruit patch reviewers with beer, or just
talk about any subject management hasn't asked you not to. Just like every
llvm social!
If you wouldn't mind RSVP'ing on http://llvmbayarea.appspot.com , that will
help me get us the right sized space at the restaurant. Looking forward to

LLVM Social in Salt Lake City, UT (Nov. 14th)?
Hi everyone,
On Monday, November 14, 2016 the LLVM in HPC workshop will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah (in conjunction with the SC16 conference). For last year's workshop, which was in Austin, we held an LLVM social the evening of the workshop, and I think that turned out really well. If you'll be in Salt Lake City and are interested in attending an LLVM social on the evening of November

Social networking around R
Hi R users,
I'd be interested in what R users think about social networking around all
things R. For this, I've set up a social network @
www.rstuff.socialgo.comand it would be great if you could post your
comments on the forum created
for this discussion.
The News section has feeds from some of the R related blogs I've been
following. I'm hoping for a central resource that keeps

We probably should not spam the list... but I am in :)
Anshu, maybe we can reply directly to you, and at the end you can simply
announce the head count?

[LLVMdev] Cambridge LLVM Social
Hello any LLVM people in or near Cambridge (the original one, not the knock-off in Massachusetts),
Chandler's closing speech at EuroLLVM indicated that LLVM developers on this side of the pond don't spend as much time in the pub as our Californian counterparts and that this was an important thing to address.
To address this, I propose that we start a regular Cambridge LLVM social. The
