SOAR - Stored object caches for R
I have just submitted SOAR version 0.99-2 to CRAN.? This replaces

multinomial MCMCglmm
Dear all,
I would like to add mixed effects in a multinomial model and I am trying
to use MCMCglmm for that.
The main problem I face: my data set consits of a trapping data set,
where the observation at eah trap (1 or 0 for each species) have been
aggregated per traplines. Therefore we have a proportion of
presence/absence for each species per trapline.

Winbind sutff (Squid and Windows 2003)
...ould be 1824
This usually means that you are running old wbinfo, pam_winbind or
libnss_winbind clients
I successfully joined the domain using 'net join'. I can wbinfo to
list the users too. But it's not enough! :P
Does anyone face this anytime?
Thanks in advance! :)

yum consumes machine (load average soars to 47)
I was using yum to update packages a few nights ago on one of my
servers. The update of rpm packages appeared to die. Since then,
commands like 'yum check-update' will consume the system. This is a
dual-core Pentium-D, with X64 (and I'm running 64 bit). One CPU pegs
at 100% running yum, but whatever it's doing on disk really is the
bigger issue. It so consumes the disk

SMTP external forward
I read several posts about SMTP being blocked at ISP.
My ISP has the same limitation.
My ADSL connection (1 fixed IP) only permits outbound connection to port 25
to their server.
None of those posts answered my need. I tried FAQ also.
I have several internal email clients/bots that needs to retrieve/send
messages, some of then are notebooks.
It''s not fair to change SMTP server to the

filled.contour as image
...produce a plot similar to the image() function? i.e. not have smooth contours but rather distinct "squares" corresponding to the different cells of the matrix. The reason I ask is because since image doesn't have an option to display colour bars it is a lot less useful.

Hub/Spoke OpenVPN can't communicate from Client A to Client B - FORWARD:REJECT:IN=tun0 OUT=tun0
Hi, I am running OpenVPN where i have one central hub VPN server, and multiple spoke VPN clients. I can ping from each client to the server and each client to computers on the subnet which the server resides (192.168.2.0/24) so it works ok there. I cannot however, ping from one client to another client. I guess the packet path would go:
clienta -> vpn -> shorewall/router -> vpn ->

Error messages when trying to access a share
...hen I try this command:
smbclient -L localhost
//it does ask a password. but whatever password I type, the ERRbadpw
error message arises on my screen. Why?? where does samba take a
username for this password from?
my smb.conf file is attached. you might want to take a look at it.

shape outgoing/upload traffic PER-IP.
...it-DOWN / 100kbit-UP
and so on.......
Ive tried CBQ and HTB, but couldnt get is right. the only thing that I did in upload bases was:
"tc qdisc add dev ppp0 root tbf rate 220kbit latency 50ms burst 1540"
witch is for the whole interface. not for a simple IP.
Thanks a lot.

Is Asterisk really good??
So this is just a general question, Is Asterisk really good?
Reliability?
Functionality?
Customization's?
I am coming from a Nortel world, were you pay for everything, and you
can't delve into the software. But it seems that customization would be
a great thing.
Like, setting up a war-dialer to customer lists, incoming/outgoing
faxes (that's possible with Asterisk, right?) and
