Normal distribution (Lillie.test())
Hi all,
I have a dataset of 2000 numbers ( it's noise measured with a scoop )
Now i want to know of my data is normal distributed (Gaussian distribution).
I did already:
- 68-95-99.7 test
- Q-Q-plot
and now i used "nortest library" and the Lilli.test()
However i don't understad the output?

Test Normality
Good Night
I made different test to check normality and multinormality in my dataset,
but I donĀ“t know which test is better.
To verify univariate normality I checked: shapiro.test, cvm.test, ad.test,
lillie.test, sf.test or jaque.bera.test and
To verify multivariate normal distribution I use mardia, mvShapiro.Test,
mvsf, mshapiro.test, mvnorm.e.
I have a dataset with almost 1000 data and 9

kstest vs shapirotest
Dear R-users
Idea:
Analysing tree height frequency with hist(), normal distribution (ks.test & shapiro.test) and skewness (package e1071 - thanks a lot for this useful package)as an indication of possible self-thinning in an experimental tree stand.
Problem:
Results from the ks.test and the shapiro.test are not comparable (see example of both tests). Tree height is a nice continuous

About normality tests...
Hi all,
I have two very large samples of data (10000+ data points) and would
like to perform normality tests on it. I know that p < .05 means that
a data set is considered as not normal with any of the two tests. I am
also aware that large samples tend to lead more likely to normal
results (Andy Field, 2005).
I have a few questions to ensure that I am using them right.
1) The Shapiro-Wilk

Kolmogorov-Smirnov test
Hi,
I have a problem with Kolmogorov-Smirnov test fit. I try fit distribution to
my data. Actualy I create two test:
- # First Kolmogorov-Smirnov Tests fit
- # Second Kolmogorov-Smirnov Tests fit
see below. This two test return difrent result and i don't know which is
properly. Which result is properly? The first test return lower D = 0.0234
and lower p-value = 0.00304. The lower 'D'

Assumptions for ANOVA: the right way to check the normality
Dear all,
I would like to know which is the right way to check the normality assumption
for performing ANOVA. How do you check normality for the following example?
I did an experiment where people had to evaluate on a 7 point scale, the degree
of realism of some stimuli presented in 2 conditions.
The problem is that if I check normality with the Shapiro test I get that the
data are not
