How to monitoring activity on a card?
My setup 4.9 stable with IPFW. Machine acts as gateway for two machines.
What are my options on monitoring activity on my external card?
This morning I noticed my DSL modem activity light is blinking non-stop.
Looking at /var/log/ don't see anything suspicious.
I feel tempted to add "log" to all my ipfw pass rules, but wonder if there
isn't a better way.

Our Primary DNS has been broken into twice in the last week. The first
time it happened I noticed the hacker used named for means of gaining
entry. This guy was good at hiding his/her tracks so we reinstalled the OS
and left a minimum install to see if it was done again. We logged all
goings on from a secure remote machine. We got the hacker''s IP address and

I'm sure by this point I've really pissed a few people off and for that
I mostly apologize. I'm a little bent here myself. It just that I
didn't plan on having to set up sniffit to track my IMAP traffic in
order to verify that things were actually working securely.
I'm going to plug along and do it myself and probably get something to
work. I have plain_text authentication working now, but was really

ok, I did manage to step ahead a bit.
using passdb and userdb gives me some progress - sniffit gives me the
proof that i'm receiving proper data from AD LDAP. but there is
another problem:
