autotest displays no output
Hey, I''m trying to configure autotest with rspec on cygwin but something is going wrong. I made a very simple testing environment with a user.rb and user_spec.rb file. Rspec works fine, but autotest outputs nothing - it just stays here, idle. ^C doesn''t display anything more. I can see it''s running because I added require ''autotest/snarl'' in my

GRUB, and how do I loathe thee
I just adore the install. Esp. of GRUB. Does *anyone* who works on GRUB actually work in the real world, and not only on brand new machines? I just had happen at work what happened last fall on my home system: then, I had /dev/hda, and was trying a clean install on a new SATA drive; right now, I'm installing on a replacement disk on a server that has no CD/DVD drive from a USB key. Autotest and RSpect
I managed to have Autotest running on my windows box. Apparently all is working but every time I know there is an error a new line is generated, no error messages or anything is sent to the console. I am using pastie now (thanks to David), please go to: http://pastie.caboo.se/106155 Daniel -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Copy data from XP to same app under Wine??
With snarls and curses and gnashing of teeth, I still keep one laptop and one dual-bootable PC hard drive with XPProSP2 installed. (Everything else is Fedora 10.) I do so purely for one class of apps, proprietary map software. Wine can now install and run at least one, and the most important, of the four suites of such apps that I have. (That one is Garmin MapSource, including Topo US

mysql
Hello, Does dovecot require mysql in order to work? Fedora rpms are claiming mysql dependencies. I'm sure you're aware of the long-lived arguement of postgresql v. mysql. If it wasn't your intention to force this, then please snarl at Red Hat. If it was your intention, then grrrrr! Thanks for this product. I like it for it's speed and stability. Jim Edwards

Forensics CD Toolkit for FreeBSD
Hi, I'd like to build a toolkit CD specifically for conducting forensics on FreeBSD. I'm not talking about a bootable CD but rather one that I could pop into a CD ROM drive and run trusted commands like ps, netstat, ls, etc., from. I'd like to build a CD that would work on -RELEASE versions of FreeBSD like 5.1 and -STABLE versions of FreeBSD too. Can anyone give me any pointers

postscript (eps) / latex / par(mfg=...) / problem!
The same problem I am having has been reported here http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/devel/04a/0344.html Namely that using par(mfg=...) with a postscript (eps) for inclusion with latex makes the figure appear upside down and back to front (flipped)! Converting the dvi to ps makes matters worse (the eps seems to be broken), however, it appears fine with gv. Here is (basically) the code I am

efficiently replacing values in a matrix
Hello all, I should probably know this by now... Anyway: I have a large matrix (dim(data) is 3000 18000). In each element are one of the following character strings "0/0", "1/1", "1/2", "2/2". I wanted to replace "0/0" with NA and the other three with 0,1,2 respectively. To accomplish just the first of these four steps I did this:

Locking between GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows
Hi, I'm having some trouble with locking between GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows. I wrote some Clipper code that run's on GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows (compiled to different binaries ofcourse) that tries to lock a file on a Samba share. Between Microsoft Windows clients there is no problem. The locking works as expected. If one client does an EXCLUSIVE lock, the other's can't

Compact Flash, EXT3, and IDE - a bad idea?
Hi All, I'm currently running an embedded linux system (arm) with a CF card mounted as EXT3. I'll copy some system details below... Anyway, I'm getting some drive errors and I'm wondering if they're due to bad/old drivers, something with EXT3 and CF latency, or something else entirely. These are the errors: hda: write_intr error1: nr_sectors=1, stat=0x51 hda:

SwitchTower CVS support
I did an svn up this morning and discovered this whole new bundle of code! Lookingn through it it looks cool, but there''s no CVS support for an SCM - I''d have thought this would be more widely used than darcs. Looking at the code for subversion.rb and I thought it''d be possible to add a new scm - CVS. I''m running into 3 problems: 1- I''m still

WARNING you cannot build info or html versions of the R manuals
Ah yes, those. Replace the rpm -Uvh with yum update and it should resolve the dependencies for you. If that fails, just pass all of those deps (in "") to yum install. Sorry about that!
