Using tcpdump to sniff telnet password
Hi all,
As long as I can remember reading various articles/docs, they all say that
telnet is not secure because all traffic is in clear text. Well, out of
boredom, I try to sniff username and password from a telnet session.
The command I use: tcpdump tcp port 23 -vvv -w test.txt
Then I read the result: strings test.txt

RPC error logging in to PDC on Win-64
I've upgraded one of my client boxes to Windows 64 bit edition but now it cannot login to the Samba PDC, instead it gives a RPC error after entering the password. The Win32 boxes can still login fine.
I can get accounts without admin rights to login but those with the rights are given a message stating "The system cannot log you on due to the following error:

This sounds like the 'reserve space' using trans2 problem.
I have a fix from Veritas, but it needs some autoconf magic
before merging in.
What client are you using ? A debug level 10 of this last
file copy would also help (or a tcpdump trace with snaplen
1500).
