Automatically detecting LUNs without a reboot
Hi everybody.
I have an HP StorageWorks array connected to one of my servers,
connected via an LSI controller (lspci reports: SCSI storage controller:
LSI Logic / Symbios Logic SAS1068E PCI-Express Fusion-MPT SAS (rev 08))
on an HP DL385 running CentOS 5.5 x86_64.
I have set up multipath and all is working but, when I create a snaphost
and export it as a new LUN from the HP web interface, it

Backup domU xen
.... seem to be a never ending story ...
I''ve found the problem of my crashes (two days on a row now).
I''m using lvm2 as a filesystem, and was doing backup''s like this:
- take a snapshot of a running system
- mount the snapshot
- rsync the snapshot to my backup-partition.
- umount the snapshot
- remove the snaphost
This resulted in a huge load, which was increased 1

OT: Building NFS server with LVM and snapshots enabled
Hi all,
I need to build a NFS CentOS 5.1 based server with LVM and snaphosts for
disaster recovering to serve storage to three ESX servers for a development
dept. I have 500 GB for storage. Data that I need to store on this server is 150
GB and can grow to 210 GB to the end of year ...
My questions are:
- Is it possible to do some type of scripting to do data snaps...

No subject
...everything else is CVS snapshot.
Various compilation attempt showed me that libshout 1 is unusable with icecast
2, that ices 0.2.3 doesn't build with libshout 2 (not suitable libshout found
in configure stage, with many pthread related error messages in
configure.log), and that latest ices2 snaphosts doesn't build either against
libshout2 (this libshout is not thread-safe).
So, i guess the best strategy is still currently stand with old version for
everything, until there is at least tagged beta release available for
everything in new suite. Am i correct ?

version confusion
Hello.
I'm one of the maintainer of ices packages found at http://plf.zarb.org. I'm
currently trying to rebuild the whole ice/icecast/libshout trilogy. However,
i'm running into some troubles.

Fwd: [Issue]: Regarding client socket getting closed from the server once the lxc container is started
Hi Folks,
Using libvirt python bindings we are creating an lxc container. Here is the
problem that we see sometimes (say 20 % of the time) when we create a new
container.
1.container gets created, and also starts. However the we are not able to
enter the namepace of the container. It throws an error initPid not
available. We see that the using netstat command , socket connection is
closed.

Poor performance of btrfs. Suspected unidentified btrfs housekeeping process which writes a lot

made by dm-crypt device /dev/dm-1, which subsequently sits on top of
/dev/md1 linux raid 6, which is built with 4 identical 186GB GPT
partitions on each of my SATA 3TB hard drives.
There are 272k files on the system (excluding 35 snaphosts), 23k folders
and 104 GB data.
