A few doc snafus
I took notes of a few errors while reading some of the documetation a little while back (verified they're still in cvs) ... vorbis-ogg.html: the 9th bullet under Encapsulation has a couple of typos: 'contining' and 'no'. ogg-stream-flush.html: the function declaration in the gray box reads "ogg_stream_pageout". ogg-stream-pageout.html: Lists '0' as a

Any long-time CentOS users on list using Ubuntu as well?
I've gotten roped into helping a local charity with some computing/infrastructure snafus. It seems their last good Samaritan installed Ubuntu all over the place and is "unavailable" now to clean up the mess. CentOS has made me somewhat lazy because everything just works out of the box for the most part and you've got the occasional "yum update". :) These...

Access Error for Roaming Profiles Share
...all the usual suspects, my question is whether this is expected behavior for domain-joined machines? Windows ACLs on the 'Profiles' directory have been set according to the corresponding Samba Wiki article, including 'Full Control' for the 'System' account, and the above snafus don't seem to have any impact on performance. One quirk, though, is that we are relying on non-integrated bind9 zones at two different sites, setting the same A record alias for the respective file server's IP address (ie., 'legacybox' -> 192.168.55.2 @ site1; 'legacybox&...

Microsoft Front Page 2000
Gentlemen, I'm having problems with M$ Front Page 2000, and I was wondering if I could solicit your assistance. I got SAMBA set up--I'm using a Linux box as a Web and file server in my apartment. There were a few installation snafus, but I finally got it right. The essential nature of my setup is that my Web space has "two views". The Apache server on the Linux box serves the pages over a DSL line, but I edit the pages by mounting part of the directory tree on the Linux box using my Windows ME machine. This sch...

IIS proxying to lighttpd/apache to mongrel with SSL
...mod_core_prox in front of mongrel) on a different server. I remember Apache proxy_pass confs having to foward on a special request to let mongrel know it''s SSL, and I''ve also seen that for IIS forwarding, I''ll need to use a reverse_proxy_pass plugin. Are there any other snafus with all that redirection? I see: http://www.napcs.com/howto/rails/deploy/ (Brian Hogan, if you''re on here, great work, thanks) Just curious if it''s a lot of work, if so, I''ll just gladly pay to rekey the SSL cert to apache/lighttpd and be done with it. Thanks, -- Cha...

[LLVMdev] FYI: As of r159525, the LLVM test suite no longer uses tclsh-style quoting!
And there was much rejoicing, but probably also some pain. I've gotten the builds green (after some minor snafus) on Linux and Mac, and I think Windows should be fine (forcing the internal lit test runner passes on Linux). This has sped up test runs by about 33% on many-core Linux builds. =] However, for folks who maintain an out-of-tree regression test suite who were previously relying on the TCL/SH-style...

[nbdkit PATCH v2] filters: Stronger version match requirements
...nd it has changed offsets in the ABI during previous API changes, such as commit ee61d232). Thus, we have to bump the API version one final time; but now, our API guaarantees enough stable ABI to check the version string as part of our API sanity checking, so we are set to avoid future maintenance snafus. All in-tree filters are affected now that .version is no longer available as an optional member (although it so happens that we are setting the new mandatory ._version to the same value that they all used). And thanks to the previous patch adding nbdkit-version.h, even a theoretical out-of-tree...

ADSL router, two nics, web server not visible from internet
...my policy file hasn''t changed other than allowing fw -> net my rules files is also attached I read the following snippet on the shorewall website ---- Many times when people have problems with Shorewall, the problem is actually an ill-conceived network setup. Here are several popular snafus: * Port Forwarding where client and server are in the same subnet. See FAQ 2. * Changing the IP address of a local system to be in the external subnet, thinking that Shorewall will suddenly believe that the system is in the ''net'' zone. * Multiple interfaces connected...
