Confused about what MTA, MDA, IMAP/POP server to use
...or roaming users) 3) Enable local users (ones with current accounts on the server) to continue to use their current client setup. 4) Enable any user to use the webmail interface to retrieve/send email. 5) Enable roaming users (ones connected from any location) to use Outlook Express or similar with SMTP_Auth and port 587 for message submission and POP3/IMAP. 6) Enable mail quota. I want the current users to use their current settings (unless they roam...then require that they use webmail or SMTP_Auth and port 587), but moving forward with new users, I have no reason to give them shell access/system a...

FreeBSD-Update + Sendmail
...ing from source. For the FreeBSD 9.2 cycle, I decided to use freebsd-update for binary update instead. I use Sendmail + Cyrus-SASL and the freebsd-update process only installed a 'bare bones' binary. How do I compile just Sendmail from source so that it uses my /etc/make.conf for the smtp_auth components? Is there a freebsd-update.conf flag to perform this task? Postfix issue but I want to fix it here...
Hello, Dovecot bunch and Timo. I am using Sylpheed as my Dovecot/IMAP client. At home behind my LAN Sylpheed can send email because the Postfix SMTPd views my LAN as a trusted network. No such luck when I'm away from home. I know it has something to do with configuring the relay access elements but what I have tried so far does not work. I'm sure someone has had this simple issue

relay access denied problem thru iphone imap auth
I'm using postfix smtpd / dovecot. Running imaps, imap, pop3s, pop3. I have a ssl certificate setup. Everything works fine via IMAP except sending to an email from outside the network to a recipient outside the network. The problem is when someone (and this is being tested thru the iphone email client configured to use imap) logs in, they can read messages but cannot send to an address
