Hi, I'd like to use CentOS in my machines but I'd like to login using the same user/pass. Is it possible to configure KDM/GDM/whatever to check the user/password in my local samba. Hello, I did it from the same side on a suse 9.3. For me it worked with smpldap-useradd -m . But I had to recognize that some of the steps descriped there did not work on suse and I had to change different things in my ldap.conf and with pam and nss. Did yoe set smbpasswd -w yorldappassword and smbpasswd -a root perhaps you must have a usermap in smbusers root=administrator o...

My Samba3-Domain SUPZ (samba & ldap Linux PDC, Windows Clients) works perfektly with all ldap users, groups (linux and from windows) and computer accounts (Win2000 WS). I'm using samba3-3.0.4-1.i586.rpm (etc) for SuSE 9.0 and smpldap-tools 0.8.4 form www.idealx.org But I cannot get the winbind stuff zu work. I'm trying to integrate winbind for ntlm_auth and Squid.
